Russian PM to meet Iran’s Pezeshkian in Tehran in wake of Nasrallah killing
Times of Israel ^

Posted on 09/30/2024 5:18:04 PM PDT by USA-FRANCE

Monday visit comes amid West’s concerns over Russia assisting Islamic Republic with its nuclear program in exchange for ballistic missiles for use in Ukraine. The announcement came as Russia has condemned Israel’s “political murder” of Iran-backed Hezbollah terror group chief Hassan Nasrallah in Beirut.

Russia is starting to panic... their greatest ally IRAN is now in jeopardy as Israel demolishes the pro-Russia Hezbollah forces in Lebanon... and Iran could be next... Israel's success is catastrophic For Moscow. No wonder the Kremlin is sending its high profile politicians in droves now to Iran... Russia is dead+mad about Nasrallah's death! That's good news.

The IRAN-RUSSIA-NORTH KOREA Alliance has truly difficult times ahead of them...

There is a huge difference between what is happening in Lebanon and with Hezbollah, vs. Iran itself.

If it were as simple as you claim, then our failure in Ukraine (I mean glorious victory that is just around the corner), inability to get control of the Yemen situation, getting the boot in Sudan and Niger where we got thrown out (hardly covered) would mean what?

Sudan also, BTW, we got our rear thrown out of there as well.

One thing is for sure, Iran is deeply in bed with Hamas, Hezbollah and Russia.

This should all actually be very worrisome (in the big picture).

—The era of Russian cooperation which we actually had (1991 - 2004), is over.

—The era of Russian mostly competition (control of oil/gas rich nations), pragmatism, conflict avoidance (2004 - 2024), is over.

Today, we are adversarial and they will screw us over even if it costs them.

It will take a little time as they ramp up their war industrial base and figure things out (Ukraine will be their top priority at least initially), but they will return the favor in Ukraine and arm our enemies, provide them training and intel. They know the proxy-war game very well.

Many of these conflicts such as in Yemen, Israel, the threat with Iran, North Korea, us getting booted from Sudan, Niger and Ivory Coast have their finger prints all over it.

We were very proud of our arms deliveries to Ukraine, yes we were. Eventually we’ll get a dose of our own medicine: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2024-09-30/us-concerned-about-russia-supplying-missiles-to-yemen-s-houthis https://gcaptain.com/us-concerned-about-russia-supplying-missiles-to-yemens-houthis/

“The enemy of your enemy is your friend.”

Russia isn’t some Caribbean or Middle East regime. We picked a fight with someone that can and eventually will hurt us back.

The Euro’s (Changing tone and/or beginning to openly push for negotiations) are already beginning to fall away, and Russia will leave them alone because they will want to isolate us.

What will be left, is us, butting heads with the Russians, for a very long time.

We took an unnecessary (NATO East expansion) and stupid (ROI and Risk didn’t make sense) path.

It was a gamble: We assumed Russia really does not want to pay the price in stopping Ukrainian NATO accession through military force. We had been building up Ukraine militarily to a large degree since 2014 and the cost would be very high to Russia. We bet wrong.

More ridiculous Russian propaganda.

“We” never did anything to Russia, Russia is simply a warmongering paranoid monster that likes to attack it s neighbors to steal land.

Russia no victim here, Russia is the criminal that supports Israel’s enemies ... stop the bogus Russian lies!

“We”

Lied about NATO East expansion: https://www.france24.com/en/russia/20220130-did-nato-betray-russia-by-expanding-to-the-east (Yes, on several occasions, we stated that we would not do what we did in October 2021)

Cheated on the Conventional Forces Europe Treaty: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Treaty_on_Conventional_Armed_Forces_in_Europe (We moved forces in to Poland and Romania 2007, and did not count the military forces of Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia in our total forces since they were added in 2004... flagrant violations)

Withdrew from the Ballistic Missile Treaty: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti-Ballistic_Missile_Treaty (We are the ones that withdrew because we wanted to build a missile defense system and base missile in Eastern Europe, that started under Bush W.)

Consistently try to violate Montreux: https://turdef.com/article/west-wants-to-violate-the-montreux-convention (We want to exceed the treaty limits in what we stick in the Black Sea, but the Turks our NATO ally keep blocking us)

Would NEVER accept what we expect Russia to accept in Ukraine, and we were willing to go to war years past for this exact same reason: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cuban_Missile_Crisis (When someone wants to base ground based missiles near us, guess what we do?)

Compare that with Russia

Russia invaded Moldova in 2003 - without any provocation

Russia invaded Georgia in 2008 - without any provocation - AND despite having a freely-signed “Peace Treaty” with that country

In 2022, Russia still had valid gas-delivery contracts with Europe ... first Russia arbitrairily changed the terms, then Putin cut off all gas flows - a flagrant violation of a signed contract

Give the Russian propaganda a break pal, everyone can see RUSSIA is the one that keeps breaking its word!

I can’t correct everything, there is to much.

Russia invaded Georgia 2008 because of the same reason they invaded Ukraine, we were promising Georgia NATO membership, and while forgotten, that is a verifiable fact: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Georgia%E2%80%93NATO_relations

“During NATO’s 2008 Bucharest summit in Bucharest, the United States and Poland called for Georgia to be allowed to join the Membership Action Plan (MAP).”

If you want peace, stop trying to build military bases along their border, stop (((invading))) or sponsoring coups in every oil producing nation aligned with them (Iraq, Syria, Libya, Venezuela) and pretending like it’s for democracy, human rights and sovereignty.

No major power accept that. Not us, not the Chinese, and yes, not the Russians.

The truth is the complete opposite. It is (((because))) there is no Soviet Union and Warsaw Pact, because Russia had the worlds 5th largest military and was spending about the same on defense as part of their GDP as we were prior to Ukraine, but with an economy about 1/10 (GDP) - 1/5 (PPP) our size, that we no longer respected them and started treating them like we do other Middle East and South American nations who we just kick around at will.

The US, China and Russia all have their “sphere of influence.” Respect that and we have lasting peace.

And Russia’s “sphere of influence” does NOT include Eastern Europe, everyone there has made it quite clear they want nothing to do with Russia

“If Russia could simply respect that, then we could have lasting peace”

They do.

Russia would have even accepted EU membership for Ukraine... Not even that would have caused a conflict.

Eastern Europe isn’t under any reasonable threat. That’s just a bunch of horse manure.

When will you get this into you skull, it is “us” that has been stomping all over their area, not the other way around.

Syria - invasion, Russian formal ally since 1970.

Libya - Russian aligned, we attacked and overthrew Qaddafi and are still sponsoring warlords there who we think are favorable to us.

Iraq - We invaded under false pretenses (WMD), killed their leaders and de facto took over. They have asked us to leave about 20 times, every single government they had, and we’re still there, to “help” of course.

Venezuela - where we sponsored coups, conduct massive psyop campaigns, and do our usual economic warfare... Dude, we were caught red handed there: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Gideon_(2020) (embarrassing - but it wasn’t made into a news story).

It’s not Russia wanting to build military bases in Cuba, Mexico... It’s us wanting to build bases on their border, Republic of Georgia, Ukraine.

Fact: No nation has invaded more countries, is based in more countries, has more troops deployed overseas in total numbers, has attacked more nations, spends more on war, has more people employed in the defense industry, has more military total manpower (except for China/PRC), has sponsored more coups, exports more weapons, occupies more countries, than us.

This is not a map of Russian military presence around the world, it’s ours: https://www.aljazeera.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/INTERACTIVE-US-military-presence-around-the-world.png?w=770&resize=770%2C770&quality=80

Stop trying to pretend like Russia is the aggressor. This isn’t 1967.

Then stop using antiquated concepts like “spheres of influence”

Countries have friends and non-friends

Most countries want to be friends with the US, because it offers safety and economic benefits

By contrast, very few countries want to be friends with Russia, because it offers no safety and few economic benefits

Hey, *maybe* if Russia could, somehow, actually stop attacking & invading its neighbors for no reason, other countries wouldn’t be so afraid of it?

Maybe?
