Goal 1 - Instill Equity as a Foundation of Emergency Management (FEMA)
FEMA ^ | FEMA

Posted on 09/29/2024 5:14:05 PM PDT by hardspunned

Underserved communities, as well as specific identity groups, often suffer disproportionately from disasters. As a result, disasters worsen inequities already present in society.

This cycle compounds the challenges faced by these communities and increases their risk to future disasters. By instilling equity as a foundation of emergency management and striving to meet the unique needs of underserved communities, the emergency management community can work to break this cycle and build a more resilient nation.

The importance of equity in emergency management is not a new concept. The Stafford Act requires FEMA assistance be delivered in an equitable manner without discrimination on the grounds of race, color, religion, nationality, sex, age, disability, language accessibility, or economic status. However, this cannot be done through a one-size-fits-all approach. Instead, FEMA must be aware of, and responsive to, the needs of different individuals and communities to ensure that the benefits of FEMA programs are available.

Thank you very much and God bless you.

This is why the decent, God fearing people of the red counties of Florida, the Carolinas and Tennessee that were just devastated will get screwed by DC again.

There aren’t enough “underserved communities” in these counties.

“The nation needs all communities to be resilient. Proactively prioritizing actions that advance equity for communities and identifying groups that have historically been underserved or disproportionately affected by disasters is critical for their resilience.”

Another way to look at it.

If you're a red area you get nothing, a blue area gets assistance.

“The importance of equity in emergency management is not a new concept. The Stafford Act requires FEMA assistance be delivered in an equitable manner without discrimination on the grounds of race, color, religion, nationality, sex, age, disability, language accessibility, or economic status. “

Yet, the writers definition of “equity” REQUIRES FEMA violate that tenant and it REQUIRES discrimination determined by race, color, religion, nationality, sex, age, disability or economic status as to who is more deserving than someone else for FEMA aid.

"Equity" is a "diversity" buzzword.

So if you're white and there is a disaster, don't expect any help from FEMA.

If you want Equity to be the rule in Emergency Management follow the rules of electricity restoration.

First you restore essential services. Hospitals and utilities.

Next you fix the problem that puts power back to the most customers first.

Then you fix the problems in the order that restores the most people per fix.

Rich or poor doesn’t matter it is what helps the most people per fix.

And I know that is how it works because I waited two weeks because I was an utility employee who waited two weeks for power because I was the only person on my road without power.

Random thoughts.

1. This administration and pretty much all Democrat administrations, have been horrible when it comes to disaster relief. Maui, Hawaii and New Palestine, Ohio are recent examples.

2. Democrats use national disasters to further their political agenda. That’s their top priority. Never let a crisis go to waste.

3. Congressional oversight of agencies is nonexistent. FEMA, Homeland Security, Secret Service, DOJ, FBI, etc. All failed agencies get rewarded with taxpayer funded budget increase every year.

4. The 17th Amendment is one of the worst amendments ever devised. None of the current senators are accountable to their respective states.

We’re gonna have to install “your *ss is fired, get out of town while you still can” into FEMA. Not kidding. At all. Try it, losers.

FEMA Equity: if someone has a boat of his own during a flood, sink it so those without their own boats do not feel so bad about themselves.
