During the Sustainable Development Impact Meeting held by the World Economic Forum (WEF), John Kerry brazenly admitted that first amendment is a threat to government power.
During the discussion, Kerry stated that free speech, particularly on social media, threatens ‘democracies’ by inhibiting the government’s ability to manufacture a consensus through the control of information.
”…I think the dislike like of and anguish over social media is just growing and growing and growing, and that’s part of our problem particularly in democracies — in terms of building consensus around any issue, its really hard to govern today.”
He goes on to describe how gatekeeping information has become increasingly difficult due to the wide array of information providers online that have been made easily accessible via the internet.
“The referees we used to have to determine what’s a fact and what isn’t a fact, it kind of, you know, been eviscerated to a certain degree…”
It is interesting to note that Kerry ended that statement with “to a certain degree,” could this have been a subconscious slip of the tongue? After all, most conservatives are aware that speech IS highly controlled on social media.
Regardless, Kerry and the rest of the Deep State clearly feel like they have not obtained enough control over public opinion online, and that even the small percentage of information providers who are able to break through the rigged system pose a major threat.

That’s right. John Kerry is nothing but a disgrace to our country.
I agree, he is among the worst specimens our species has to offer.
Yeah well it sounds like John Kerry been hammered to long the rest of the brain cells went away.
Traitor during and after the Viet Nam fiasco sez whut???
And we’ve overplayed the monetary sanctions to the point that other countries will avoid using US dollars or US banks.
Kerry is showing his communist roots. His statement is downright scary for us to behold.
I put John Kerry in the STFU category along with countless others. Sorry, don’t have a list, but I’m sure you know who they are.
He's right. And that was exactly the intention of the founding fathers who wrote the Constitution.
“...that first amendment is a threat to government power.”

I could swear a highly placed Democrat friend of Kerry once said, “Dissent is the highest form of patriotism.”
Who was that mystery person?
We have court decisions saying it is free speech to burn the American flag, or dance naked for money. But our elites claim that dissenting on political issues, or raising concerns about experimental medical treatments is not protected.
“And we’ve overplayed the monetary sanctions to the point that other countries will avoid using US dollars or US banks.”
Absolutely. If the Neocons were SMART, they would have struck FAR EARLIER, as in the 1990 timeframe, when China and India were very weak and Russia was on it’s knees.
Given the situation in the 2020s, the SMART MOVE for the Neocons would have been to continue their ‘soft power’ approach to induce the people in Russia and other countries to force their governments to move our way (that was actually working!).
They didn’t - not enough patience, I guess. As far as I can tell despite all of the EVIDENCE available to them, the Neocons still thought they ruled the planet and crush any country that gave them trouble - even today. The Neocons don’t seem to learn from their stupidity, so I guess they’ll wind up taking the West down with them.
“I could swear a highly placed Democrat friend of Kerry once said, “Dissent is the highest form of patriotism.” Who was that mystery person?”
I believe it was Hillary Rodman Clinton. Or at least she shrieked something very close to that when Bush was running the country.
But that was then, this is now with the Left running things, so dissent has been re-defined to mean DANGEROUS SPEECH - and thus must be eliminated by whatever means necessary (including bullets shot at Trump, at least as they see it).
Bump to PC & all! ;-)
