America’s JASSM air to ground stealth missiles and Russian plans to use tactical nukes
Armageddon Newsletter ^ | 8/17/24 | Dr. Gilbert Doctorow

The latest development worthy of discussion in last night’s edition of the talk show is the likely fitting of America’s air to ground JASSM missiles on the F-16s that have been and will continue to be delivered to Ukraine.

The acronym of this Lockheed produced weapon stands for Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile and its salient features are its range and its nearly undetectable characteristics in flight. The missile apparently has two basic variants, one for approximately 400 km and the other for 900 km.

The logic for fitting a couple of these missiles on an F-16 is to enable the jet to strike deep into Russia, as far as Moscow and beyond, even if they fly well back from the Russia-controlled territory in Ukraine to be safe from Moscow’s advanced air defense systems.

This article identifies which missiles constitute the red line Putin is referring to in his remarks about escalating the war beyond proxies.

Not all NATO missiles, commonly referred to as “long range missiles”, have the same escalatory effect.

The Storm Shadows and ATACMS have had little effect with their current 90% failure rate. The JASSMs have never been seen by Russian AD. These missiles are the terrifying ones for the world.

I wonder if there are any predictions out about how these missiles would fare against Russian anti missile defences?

They just keep doing everything possible to start WW3 with no understanding of the results.

foundedonpurpose: "They just keep doing everything possible to start WW3 with no understanding of the results."

Putin awards official propagandist Solovyov Order of Honor:

The only people on earth publicly threatening nuclear war are the Kremlin's official mouthpieces.
They seem to fantasize that Russia can throw its nukes at Ukraine, or elsewhere, without suffering major consequences.

Would Russians actually do it?
No, the real and negative consequences for Russia are far too serious.

However, serious threats from Russia have already paid huge dividends in convincing Pres. Biden and other Western leaders to restrict Ukrainians in both weapons and targets.

So, given their successes, Russians would be foolish to stop threatening nuclear war, but they would be orders of magnitude even more foolish to actually start one.

Vladimir Solovyov, March 15, 2022:

"If you think we'll stop at Ukraine, think it through 300 times.
I'll remind you that Ukraine is just an intermediate step in the establishment of the strategic security of the Russian Federation."

I wonder how long until saner Russians ‘remove’ Putin and replace him with someone who will try and get Russia out of the insanity Putin got them into?

With experience, the Russians will get better. That’s the way it was with Storm Shadows and ATACMS.

What a bunch of BS.

The Russians STOPPED at Kiev and turned for home as good faith when the peace deal was negotiated six weeks into this. To deny this and still traffic in the known lie that Russia ever considered going past the Ukrainian border only shows one is not a serious person, just a serious stooge of the DC liars.

Everyone with nuclear weapons has threatened to use them if attacked by existential force. Stop Lying!

America’s JASSM air to ground stealth missiles and Russian plans to use tactical nukes to commit national suicide.

Since the US is attacking inside Russia by proxy, what is to stop the reverse? Iran, N Korea, Afghanistan...... Why not attack into the staging areas of the supplies meant for Ukraine? THAT is the next trigger. If the US, Germany, Finland, France and other NATO countries are not neutral, why can’t they be attacked? STUPID PEOPLE, will get us killed and it will be called Trumps folly.

Why would those countries supplying Russia with weapons want to start a war with the 32 nations of NATO by attacking them?

More of your needless fearmongering

Putin already said he won’t use nukes first

And since NATO won’t either, that means there’s no risk of a nuke war happening

So stop the fearmongering nonsense

hardspunned: "The Russians STOPPED at Kiev and turned for home as good faith when the peace deal was negotiated six weeks into this."

OMG, you really have been drinking the Kremlin's raw information sewage, haven't you?

The truth is, Russian's were defeated and routed at Kiev, and there was never a "peace deal" negotiated, period.
All claims to the contrary are lying Russian propaganda, which no serious person would take seriously.

What is serious are the words of the Kremlin's official mouthpieces like Dmitry Medvedev, Vladimir Solovyov, Olga Skabeyeva and Margareta Simonyan.

hardspunned: "To deny this and still traffic in the known lie that Russia ever considered going past the Ukrainian border only shows one is not a serious person, just a serious stooge of the DC liars."

So, you prefer Russian propaganda?
How does that even work inside your brain?

"Putin's Brain", Alexander Dugin:

  1. Vladimir Putin (President):
"The breakup of the Soviet Union was the greatest geopolitical tragedy of the 20th century...
...Ukraine is not just a neighboring country for us.
It is an inalienable part of our own history, culture, and spiritual space."

  2. Alexander Dugin (geopolitical philosopher):
"The American empire should be destroyed."
"If you are in favour of global liberal hegemony, you are the enemy."

  3. Dmitry Medvedev (Russian Security Council, former president):
"Russia must destroy and fully dismantle the Ukrainian state."

  4. Vyacheslav Nikonov (political scientist, grandson of Vyacheslav Molotov):
In April 2022, he declared the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine to be a holy war and the Russian forces to be the embodiment of good.

Putin awards Order of Honor to Solovyov:

  5. Patriarch Kirill of Moscow:
"For the Russian Orthodox Church, the Russkiy Mir is also a spiritual concept, a reminder that through the baptism of Rus’, God consecrated these people to the task of building a Holy Rus."

  6. Propagandist Vladimir Solovyov (Russia-1, TV presenter):
"If you think we'll stop at Ukraine, think it through 300 times.
I'll remind you that Ukraine is just an intermediate step in the establishment of the strategic security of the Russian Federation."

  7. Propagandist Olga Skabeyeva (Russia-1, "Iron Doll" TV presenter):
"Now we will have to demilitarise the whole of Nato.
I've said it many times, then people gasp in shock.
This is what we call World War Three."

Putin's Mouthpieces: Simonyan, Solovyov, Skabeyeva, Nordkin:

  8. Propagandist Margarita Simonyan (RT, TV presenter):
"Personally, I see the path of a third world war as the most realistic.
Knowing us, knowing our leader, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, knowing how things work around here . . .
"I think that the most improbable outcome—that it will all end in a nuclear strike — is still more probable than defeat.
This horrifies me, on the one hand, but on the other I understand that this is how it is."
hardspunned: "Everyone with nuclear weapons has threatened to use them if attacked by existential force.
Stop Lying!"

Really?
No. The US government's nuclear doctrine since the Cold War contemplates both massive retaliation (MAD) for a nuclear strike against us and "calculated ambiguity" for other serious but non-nuclear scenarios.
No country besides Russia makes public threats of first use of nukes in a war of aggression they started.

To claim otherwise is pure fantasy.

Yes , it is a large number and includes my nation, the United States, if you don’t already keep up with military matters and national defense you obviously aren’t interested in it.
