SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (WDTN) — Wednesday evening in Springfield, community members gathered in peaceful protest of the false claims about Haitians.
On Park Road in Springfield, there was a parade of residents showing that hate has no home in the city. Signs displayed messages to the Haitian community that they have support.
“Especially us as Haitians… we need unity here. We need a Springfield united. So this sends out a big message. For those who have been spreading false information, now they can see we are not bad people,” said Jacob Payen, Haitian Community Alliance spokesperson.
That support is reaching the Haitian community directly. Less than ten minutes from Park Road, you will find Rose Goute Creole Restaurant. The Haitian restaurant has been packed with patrons, all to show support in the face of uncertainty.
“We just wanted to come down and support the Haitian restaurant and the Haitian people,” said Columbus resident Bethany Fleisher.
Springfield YMCA getting $343K renovation “We drove over here to show our solidarity with the Haitian community here,” said Columbus resident Jack Decker.
“If we can support them in any way, and kind of push back against the people who are obstructing them, then that’s a good reason to come,” said Yellow Springs resident David Hergesheimer.

Charleroi in Pennsylvania has been inundated with Haitian. Tyson foods is the main recipient of these people. Charleroi has a large meatpacking factory that supplies Tyson foods with meat products. You might want to think about any product that says Tyson on it, boycott it. Western Pennsylvania is going to go full Trump.
Propaganda wrapped in performance art disguised as news.
“Didn’t biden say Canabals ATE his Uncle? “
Biden invited them here.
Stockholm syndrome.
A “Pets used for VooDoo claim would have been too “far out”.
In the cop body cam video, the cop came across the dead cat, observed that the woman had, shall we say, “dined” on it, and pressed the woman, saying, did you eat the cat.
That’s enough to justify Trump bringing the issue up in the debate. There being enough of a basis in truth, the meme-o-sphere then enthusiastically picked up the ball and ran with it.
The Dems can sure put a crowd together when the really want to...
20 years ago, my office started a “diversity day” day. Food, music, displays, etc. In the beginning, I was literally the only one out of close to a thousand people that was saying it was a bad idea. After a few years, the white people saw the light and started getting annoyed, while the “people of color” thought it was great. They had successfully turned it into something where they could effectively not work for a few weeks, doing their “party planning”, etc. “I told you so” never felt better.
People are stupid.
The nation of Haiti has been the target of US interventions many times. It’s been a disaster for most of my life. I feel that many of these people qualify as refugees.
Yes, the probably eat wildlife and pets. They have learned to survive under horrible conditions. No, the may not have culturally adjusted to a new environment. Putting so many in one small place is bad planning.
The reality is that America cannot police the world nor absorb the people from failed socialist autocratic states. The socialists are already poised here to go full “Argentina” in the US, and you never want to go full Argentina or Venezuela.
I am not against immigrants or refugees. I am for legally doing it with reasonable maximum allowable numbers to people who contribute. Dependents get returned to nation of origin.
Sounds like Haitians welcoming Haitians. I don’t believe it said who the protestors were. Probably mostly Haitians.
I think I still have a Fry Mumia t-shirt.
Good people - bad people
They don’t belong here.
It’s 10 miles from Yellow Springs to Springfield. You have to go through Hustead and Beatty.
Don’t forget yellow springs is right down the road.
They have room for haitans.
You must have good nose plugs.
I haven’t stepped foot in yellow springs for years.
Place is full of Marxist nuts.
The restaurant opened a year ago...
Interesting timing.
Wonder how the owner got financing...
Who are these people?
But that the problem. All of these people are dependent once they get here with nothing but the clothes in their backs. They’re all dirt poor and in need. Many come here and do work hard in constriction and other areas, but they all draw benefits while working in low pay jobs. It’s a drain on us …. Talk to any of them -their intent is always to “go back home” once they get old. They’re just here to milk us — no intention on investing in life here. Contrast that with legal immigrants who desire to actually take the oath and swear in as Americans — they ARE here to have a better life and contribute.
