ABC News debate moderator Linsey Davis made a stunning admission about their attempts to 'fact check' Donald Trump during his debate with Kamala Harris.
Republicans were furious at ABC News moderators David Muir and Linsey Davis for refusing to fact check Harris on her lies about Trump's views on IVF.
In a new interview, Davis says that it was a conscious decision to do the fact checks after seeing how Trump and Joe Biden performed in the CNN debate in June.
'People were concerned that statements were allowed to just hang and not [be] disputed by the candidate Biden, at the time, or the moderators,' Davis said.
Davis even anticipated Trump's comments on abortion and IVF and said it 'was an obvious thing to get on the record'.
She then admitted that they tried but failed to get the candidates on the record every time they claim they told a lie.
The anchor, who hosts a show on ABC News' streaming outlet, admitted social media makes her aware of how tough it is as a black woman covering the first black woman to run as a major presidential candidate to stay unbiased.
'There is a stereotype that I am acutely aware of that I can't be unbiased covering this moment,' she told the LA Times. 'And the anonymous Instagram people serve as reminders every day.'
Muir and Davis repeatedly attempted to fact check Trump during the debate on issues such as the Capitol riot and a claim about migrant crime.
However, Harris incorrectly stated that Trump was against in vitro fertilization during the debate.
The former president stated that he has spoken out in favor of IVF when it has faced bans at the state level.

That is not the moderators role. If someone wants to dispute what a candidate says, that is up to the opposing candidate in their rebuttal time. The moderators are not candidates - does she really not understand the difference?
Moreover, she doesn't mind her own, verifiably false, statements are now themselves "hanging out there"?
Really miss Jim Lehrer. Can't say he was completely unbiased but he did know what his role as moderator was. Ever since Candy Crowley they seem to think their role is to involve themselves in the debate and debate the candidates. The Crowley event was heralded as exposing the candidate she was arguing with, even though what she said turned out to be completely incorrect and she even admitted it herself later.
I saw the debate between the two men, but who was the black lady off in the corner?

I’d rather hear from the Republicans who keep approving these debates. The RNC. The president’s campaign team. Who are they? What are their names?
Why do they keep subjecting their candidates and Republican voters to these farcically rigged debates?
Are they aware that all of the moderators are Democrat activists?
Why are they not protecting their candidates?
How many times does this have to happen before significant changes are made?
Do they care about the Republican voters? If they do, why don’t they listen to their concerns?
The Democrats are making far more money off of these debates than the Republicans. The debates are almost always on Democrat run networks and cable news outlets. Why do the Republicans allow that?

It’s simple, the moderators were biased. They didn’t come armed to fact check Harris. She makes it sound so innocent, as a progressive would.

One has to understand that any percentage of black ancestry, no matter how small, is enough for a person to claim full blackness, something Kamala has been doing for years.
Such a person is therefore eligible for all of the perks that go with being black, not the least of which is to insulate one from any suggestion of bias or racism.
