On Wednesday -- the 23rd anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks against the United States -- White House National Security Council communications adviser John Kirby demonstrated the mind of a well-placed regime toady when he accidentally included Fox News in a "reply all" email chain that featured a message dismissive of what he called "a 'handful' of vets" critical of President Joe Biden's botched 2021 Afghanistan withdrawal.

My Navy experience predates Kirby’s by several decades, but sadly, we had many ‘Hollywood Admirals’ just like Kirby. The real Navy knew how to get rid of the bilge like Kirby. They posted them in the worst places and they disappeared into the woodwork.

Reminds me of the old story about two officers who were trying to pull rank to cut in line for ice cream (”gedunk”) when someone barked at them to wait their turn. When they turned to see who had dared to rebuke them, they spotted Admiral William Halsey waiting in line with the rest of the sailors. Kriby is a ‘line cutter’!
