Kremlin dismisses Germany's chatter about Ukraine peace talks

Unlike German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Russia sees no basis for peace talks with Ukraine now, a top Kremlin official said on Monday.

Dmirty Peskov, spokesman for Russian President Vladimir Putin, flatly dismissed the suggestion Scholz made during an interview on Sunday that peace could end the conflict.

"As far as a peaceful settlement of the conflict in Ukraine is concerned, no tangible contours have yet emerged," Peskov said in Moscow.

Russia has heard chatter and statements about negotiations from various European leaders, "but we are not hearing anything from the country that is steering this process, that is directing the collective West," Peskov said, referring to the United States.

All of Moscow's demands for an end to the war have so far boiled down to Ukraine ceding territory - and also granting Russia a great deal of control over the rest of Ukraine as well.

As said yesterday, it's very unlikely Russia would participate.

They prefer to decide matters in the field, unless Ukraine is ready to capitulate.

Russia is right.

Germany is not the mastermind behind this war. The US is.

Until the US stops talking war and starts talking peace, negotiation is pointless.

Frankly Zelenski hasn't shown any indication he's interested in peace one little bit.....he's too busy beating the drumbeat of world war and sucking revenue flows out of every country he can from the very beginning.......Ukraines elites are making out like bandits so they're happy the war continues to fill their pockets as each group has their turn in office....wash and repeat for the next group.

It's been clearly stated..... Among the prevalent mechanisms to launder money in Ukraine are the 'so-called conversions centers' through which funds are siphoned from the real to the shadow economy, and which are used to convert proceeds into cash and transfer them out of the country.

Its not our US Congress anymore and doesn't represent us anymore ....it represents the Biden Crime family and Ukraine now!

If Russia is still bombing innocent civilians with kinetic missiles, then Russia is obviously not interested in Peace

Germany is a bunch of has-been Nazis who can't control the Muslim Terrorists invading Germany or the modern Uke Nazis looting German energy transit.

As a nation and a people, they're worthless, and have been since Nazification.

“I had Russia in mind when I quoted that. I wont fight for Russia.”|

So, it was the good old royal “We”. Big bold talk about never surrendering. Gotcha, another warmongering foreigner pretending to be an American. The crowd that’s all hot for the USA to fight Russia, and you’ll cheerfully send my sons to die, but you won’t risk your own fundaments.

noob

I forgot mention, the Russia cheerleaders on FR are very insecure, especially now that part of Russia has been captured, and Russia's field operations continue to suck ...

So, expect them to throw a low of petty, personal insults at you, in desperate attempts to get you to stop criticizing Putin and Russia ... another often-used tactic is to try to change the subject to something irrelevant ... this is how they work

"Forewarned is forearmed"

Yes, the Victory Plan implemented by Zelinski, e.g., the Kursk Invasion.

Russia never once paniced They got the Ukrainians to come from behind their definsive lines into undefendable terrain.

Nearly 12,000 gone and they can’t withdrawl.

Ukraine’s last reserves squandered in a PR campaign to hid the collaspe in Donbass.

Worst still, the objectives of the nuke plant failed, and the severs oil pumping station is the only lifeline left for the EU. Nobody is able to support Ukraine on this idiot operation which couples nuclear terrorism and drying up the energy lifeline... the only option for Germany is US LNG and they cannot afford it.

Zelinski tried to blackmail the EU over energy and Russia over 2 nuke power plants. Even the US has distanced themselves from Zelinski.

Negotiations. Why? Ukraine cannot stop Rusdia now, and NATO has run out of weapons. The longer this goes on, the more the warmongering politicans fm EUrope get voted. Heck, even SGT Schultz has a higher than 17% popularity rating than Oala.

Can’t end soon enough for Germany. VW is finished in Germany.

At least the US beat the EU economically as a challenger with Ukraine.

“I dont think ANYONE should send their sons to die for Russia. I think we can agree on that?”

The usual dirty tricks from your side. Twisting what posters say. We’ve had many of your sort spreading crap like this here. Warmongering foreign weirdos, arrogant Ukrainian nationalists, and chickenhawks accusing decent people of stuff like supporting war crimes and helping Russia.

So you are ok with people sending their sons to die for Russia?

How is that a “dirty trick”?

Is not what is good for the goose good for the gander?
