Donald Trump pulls ahead of Kamala Harris in major poll — a sign her campaign is fizzling

For the first time in weeks, former President Donald Trump pulled ahead of Vice President Kamala Harris in one of the most-watched national polls — raising the prospect that her momentum has fizzled out just ahead of their debate.

Trump edged out Harris 48% to 47% among likely voters nationally, according to a New York Times/Siena College poll.

Other polls have similarly begun to show the 45th president regaining ground against his rival now that the Democratic National Convention has wrapped up.

“There is also the minor point that I do not find RFK to have an acceptable position on anything other than the forced mRNA treatments and disclosure of all records pertaining to the Kennedy assassinations. I do hope that Trump will appoint RFK to a specific position in his administration where he will do something on those topics.“

Eight years ago I would have agreed - but during that time I’ve come to believe that there is one over-arching issue that supersedes normal right-left political issues - as important as they are:

The degree of corruption/treason/deep-state - whatever you want to call it - has rendered the Republic completely unaccountable to We The People. I knew it was bad but not this bad.

Later - after we take back the Republic from the permanent administrative state, it’s paid propaganda ministry and whoever really pull the strings - then we can go back to debating “the issues”.

Meanwhile, I’d gladly form alliances with my sworn enemies on the Left - so long as they sincerely wish to advance their Leftist agenda on its merits - though a free and unbiased media, fair elections, a justice system that is not corrupted - with transparency and accountability to the people.

I believe that RRK Jr., Tulsi Gabbard, Elon Musk, and the others who Trump is recently forming alliances with - despite having agendas I oppose - are sincere in their desire to reform the Republic and make it accountable to the people again.

Polls are useless. Trump is waaaay ahead, he was always ahead in 2020 also. Maybe the left now realizes they can’t cheat away the margin with Ka-mala as their candidate.

But those soft middle class Harris ads work. They are defining an unknown quantity for a lot of people. I imagine there are a lot of low info voters who see these ads and believe that is who she is.

As for the abortion ads anyone who is single issue abortion voter is probably not voting republican anyway. They may be a waste of money.

5. Put a Trump bumper-sticker on your car,

I’ll think I’ll pass on that one. There are too many psychotic libs walking around with screwdrivers looking for the chance to damage/deface/scratch any cars with Trump bumper stickers.

We need to start addressing Harris as Kalamity Harris.

It has an honest ring to it ...

“I have this sick feeling that on Sept. 18, that little Commie is gonna throw the book at him and order him to be imprisoned immediately, with prejudice.”

Marchan delayed the sentencing, I’m pretty sure.

“Agree, which is why Trump should not have been the nominee. He’s viscerally hated by an unwavering half of the country. Not a good recipe”

It would be the same for any Republican candidate. We have a corrupt media that, unfortunately, still has a lot power

I don't hate anybody.

I am willing to live and let die.

If it comes to that, of course. Plan "E".

I prefer plans "A"-"D", which involve civil society and some version of "rule-of-law". But - ya gotta work with wacha got. We will soon find out what is in the box.

I hope this does not encourage Trump to resort to his insulting ways.

I can get behind that idea.

Trump’s first question at the debate. “Kamala, Who will your democratic party pick as a candidate after you lose this debate.”

Do you know why likely with leaners show smaller numbers than only likely sans leaners in this poll?

I think DeSantis would be doing better in the polls right now. He'll be at 51 or 52 nationally. The ceiling with him is higher.

But we voted for Trump in the primaries. And yes, we believe in "democracy". Unlike the Democratic Party.

The sample size for leaners is only 180ish. There is no way any information can be gleaned from that.
