A couple of my friends here on FreeRepublic have met some of my dogs.
I’ve had four in my lifetime
I am thinking of Rus -also known as The Mayor - his wife Jul’s- Laura also known as Ms behavin, Julie also known as Allegra, Luvie also known as Linda and several others …from visits and the Texas shoots
the one I’m going to highlight is Josy , all four of my dogs were rescues
Josy joined me at approximately 6 to 9 months of age
a German Shepherd.
She was a loving pet, but eventually became a cadaver dog
was involved in several big time murder situations. If she were still alive and I was physically more capable we’d be in North Carolina looking for survivors and bodies.
My efforts now are similar to Cotton. I’ve been making sandwiches and I mean a lot of sandwiches - only limited by the amount of money in my monthly debit account. These are being sent via our Federated women’s transport rescue people who are sleeping in their vehicles and in tents on the ground, there are no restaurants.
My contribution has been wheat bread, ham and both Havarti and Swiss cheese. I got every single bit of mustard that I’ve had in my stash and I mean like 30 bottles mixed them together and two bottles of ketchup to Stretch it out for a nice blend
also got together all of my stash of peanut butter which was a lot and jellies which was also a lot and Jams and preserves and bought another 30 loaves of bread. Let them make their own sandwiches I wish I could do more. Money is limited
My heart breaks for the people suffering and I’m so proud of the people who are there helping and hope my contribution helps
Other ladies in our Federated GOP group are doing likewise. Many have oodles of tomatoes and will be sending them with bread and Dukes mayo(in the south tomato sandwiches and Dukes mayo is 👍👍👍)

In Oklahoma their were many tornadoes. The family retreated to their safe spot. I would not go there. I went into the van was my dogs. I would share their fate.

When he cooked us pancakes I knew exactly what that kitchen was going to look like. When I make pancakes I get flour everywhere.
Don’t sweat it exit, I do the same thing. :-) So glad the girls pitched in to clean it up.

That’s pretty harsh isn’t it Dolly? If you mean a cat or dog yes. But some people have horses, cows, pigs, etc as a pet and it may be to hard to get them out.
That’s wonderful of you to make sandwiches. And much more needed in your neck of the woods, the flooding here has receded and I don’t think there’s too many outlying areas that people can’t get to or from.

I’m hearing people say there is a way to get to Asheville now, but it takes four hours versus one and a half. It’s the way people used to go before the interstate was built, on back mountain roads.
I think I’ll wait to go to Trader Joe’s, there’s nothing that crucial

Lol I managed to avoid arrest. I was, however, looking forward to getting my card with all of the loot on it, and my reservations at a fancy shmancy New York hotel, and my new cell phone. Notta. All I got was a kitchen full of exit’s mess.
I know that people love their pets, and I like animals as well. When push comes to shove, however, people take priority over animals. Yes, it’s sad to have to leave some of them, but it’s always people first, IMHO.
