KYIV, Ukraine (AP) — Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Monday condemned Russia’s overnight and early morning barrage on his country as “vile” and said it involved over 100 missiles of various types and about 100 “Shahed” drones.
Ukraine’s leader said there were deaths and dozens of injuries and that the attack caused a lot of damage to Ukraine’s energy sector.
“Like most previous Russian strikes, this one was just as vile, targeting critical civilian infrastructure. Most of our regions — from the Kharkiv region and Kyiv to Odesa and our western regions,” Zelenskyy said.
The barrage began around midnight and continued beyond daybreak in what appeared to be Russia's biggest attack against Ukraine in weeks.
Russian forces fired drones, cruise missiles and hypersonic ballistic Kinzhal missiles at 15 Ukrainian regions — more than half the country, Ukraine’s Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said Monday morning.
“The energy infrastructure has once again become the target of Russian terrorists. Unfortunately, there is damage in a number of regions," Shmyhal said, adding that Ukraine’s state-owned power grid operator, Ukrenergo, has been forced to implement emergency power cuts to stabilize the system.

I don’t want to think that I have taken a side in this conflict. Problem is, liberals in Subarus have Ukraine bumper stickers and Ukraine flags flying in front of their houses. Other problem, Ukraine was what they impeached Trump over. Therefore I have a prejudice. I am kind of forced to take a side.
He can no longer entertain Western Dignitaries by playing the piano, and his International Gravitas is seriously diminished.

Where have you been? Turkey held talks, China , Saudi Arabia, and Indian Prime Minister just left Kiev……St Z discounted ALL these negotiations. The Turkish one was actually signed but Englands Boris Johnson flew to Ukraine and destroyed it by promises of lots of $$$ and weapons……
Now Vlad has no choice but to settle this on the fields of battle. Never mind Ukraine now has virtually no electricity, just defaulted on their debt, infrastructure totally destroyed, Germany just stated no more weapons to Ukraine- they released a report Ukraine ( the West) blew up their energy life life- Nordstream.

The Nord Stream gas pipelines were sabotaged by a series of explosions in September 2022
German state prosecutors trying to solve the mystery of who blew up the Nord Stream gas pipelines under the Baltic Sea in 2022 have issued an arrest warrant for a Ukrainian diving instructor.
The suspect has been named as Volodymyr Z by German media, who have treated the sabotage like a sensational true crime drama.
Ines Peterson, a spokeswoman for Germany’s prosecutor general, declined to confirm the arrest warrant, telling the BBC that her office never commented so as not to jeopardise the investigation by giving the suspect a chance to escape.
But the Polish prosecutor general’s spokeswoman, Anna Adamiak, in Warsaw told the BBC’s Adam Easton that a European Arrest Warrant had indeed been passed to them by German prosecutors.
When Polish officers went to Volodymyr Z’s home in early July, he had already left the country for Ukraine, she said.
He had until then been living in a quiet residential area of Pruszków, a town near Warsaw, German media say.

I don’t buy the story, the US had a hand in it also- Biden even stated that….so so laughable the people that believed Vlad blew up their own pipeline!
They lost two air defense systems in Kursk. I know when they lose them in the Ukraine, they don’t report it in the MSM. What their soldiers face without air defense!

Boris Johnson warns against a Ukraine-Russia peace deal
There is “absolutely no sign” that Russia wants to reach a deal with Ukraine, and it could not be trusted even if one was on offer, Boris Johnson has told the Commons.
The former prime minister warned against a “land for peace” deal, and said he doubted Volodymyr Zelensky or any Ukrainian government would agree to any such compromise.
He claimed President Putin’s position was getting weaker each week and that Britain must “stay the course”.
