Nice discussion of how anti-price gouging rules will harm consumers and the economy.

While it’s true, and a proven fact, the American public consists of self absorbed, envious fools who are thrilled when someone wants to punish corporations.

Price controls lead to scarcity which leads to rationing - and in the minds of these fools rationing leads to “equity”.

They don’t realize it actually leads to black markets, real price gouging for scarce supplies, corruption, robbery and theft, social unrest and even murder.

They don’t understand human nature until it beats them with a club.

Government creates a crisis to justify crisis measures.

They don’t understand human nature until it beats them with a club.

They surround themselves with security to remain out of clubbing distance.

Because the commies want full control of the global starvation they have planned for years.
No way out, no way to get food through back doors, they want you at the complete mercy of government supply and rations when that day comes.

It’s because the idea of “price gouging” gives liberals the sads.
It has to be an emotional plea because that’s all they have.

I saw an example after a hurricane here in Florida. Trucks started rolling in as soon as the wind died down below 40mph or so. They had water at “exorbitant” prices and seemingly very expensive generators. They were sold out within a few minutes. That brought in many other trucks with owners/drivers hoping to cash in on the bonanza of desperate people. What happened is that the prices steadily reduced and the area was supplied far better than if the existing “anti gouging” laws had been enforced. Without the high prices of those first deliveries we would have waited for days for the government to bring in supplies and the mix would not have been as efficient for the needs as that Price Gouging provided. My first reaction was, of course, how evil! but it only took 8 or 10 hours to see the trucks rolling in one after another and the prices going down fast. That greed reaction saved freezers full of food and got people fed that had not stocked up.

Envy is greed. They are not quite synonyms, though. Greed is. "I want more and more. Envy is "I want more and more of what you have.

Because fools are unaware that corporations are biggest wealth creators in the country.

Government, military, accountants, lawyers, doctors etc. Depend on wealth created by others.

I was ready to transport a truck load of bottled water to Texas in the aftermath of a major hurricane a few years ago -- from 1,200+ miles away.

The state's "price gouging law" made it not worth my while.

Oh, well. I can't save people from themselves.

We lost power for 10 days after a freak snowstorm in October one year. My Welder/Generator crapped out after the second day and I could not find one to replace it anywhere. A friend from a few towns away from me and said there was a guy selling Generators out of the back of a tractor trailer, 7000 watt Wen’s for 700 bucks. I had him buy me one and picked it up the next day. Saved us from freezing and damage to our pipes and 10 years later it still is running fine. Thanks to the guy who drove in from the midwest and made a few bucks selling life saving equipment when we needed it. If we had to depend on the Government to help we would have lost everything.

“Envy is “I want more and more of what you have.”

Close but no cigar. Keep thinking about though.
