WASHINGTON (TND) — The parent company of Jack Daniel’s on Wednesday announced it is ending its diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) goals.
Executives of the Brown-Forman Corporation wrote to employees in an email shared on social media Wednesday that the company is changing its diversity and inclusion strategy to account for a shift in the U.S.’ “legal and external landscape.”
“With these new dynamics at play, we must adjust our work to ensure it continues to drive business results while appropriately recognizing the current environment in which we find ourselves,” Brown-Forman's Executive Leadership team said.
The company noted it will end goals to have diversity in its workforce and to deal with suppliers with diverse personnel. It will also begin making sure its training programs align with the new DEI strategy, the executives said.
Brown-Forman added that it will make sure executive incentives and employee goals are tied to “business performance," as well as stop participating in the Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index. The report measures policies, practices and benefits affecting employees of the LGBTQ+ community.
We know it will not be easy to navigate the road ahead, but please know our deep belief in, and respect for, each of you remains constant,” the company wrote.
Robby Starbuck, an anti-DEI activist who posted three screenshots of the email on X, took credit for Brown-Forman's changes. A spokesperson for the company told The National Desk (TND) the three images Starbuck shared “appear to be the email.”
“The next company we were set to expose was @JackDaniels_US,” Starbuck wrote. “They must have been tipped off by us going through employee LinkedIn pages.”
We’re now forcing multi-billion dollar organizations to change their policies without even posting just from fear they have of being the next company that we expose," he added.
The activist has also taken credit for changes in other companies’ DEI policies. On Monday, he celebrated Harley-Davidson's announcement it was ending hiring quotas and spending goals for suppliers with a diverse workforce.

Well, it’s about time these woke executives realized that a companies highest priority is making a profit, not to try and encourage any type of social beliefs. A business does not exist to brainwash it’s employees or customers, it exists to make money. Period.

Can I just ask, WHY would ANYone want to work for a company that values your skin color or sexual practices over whatever talent and productivity you bring to the company?!?! If you do (value skin/sex more), you're essentially ADMITTING you're not good enough for a real job!

Because much of the workforce being produced by the American system today is talentless, uneducated, unskilled and high on drugs. They want jobs just because they exist and check a box.
Hopefully Jack Daniels understands that WELFARE PROGRAMS are something that should ONLY be administered by the private charities, and if absolutely necessary, the government.
Corporate America has NO BUSINESS in that and needs to tell the Government, Investors (as in Black Rock), and Media to F-off, as their job is to, legally, do their best to enhance SHAREHOLDER VALUE, and nothing else. Either that is done, or we might as well handover world dominance to China, because there is no middle ground.
I suspect that corporate execs are announcing DEI initiatives only to immediately rescind them. That enables them to say, see I wanted to be a good guy but they made me stop.

This sentence makes it sound like they are still on board with DEI.
The execs are evil and thrive in darkness.
Shine a bright light on them and they run and hide.
Many US firms are scrapping this.
However,
Once inculcated in government, this will not go away by itself. It will self perpetuate.
It took a lot of effort and time to get this in government, but now there, it will stay unless you force them to scrap this garbage.

Maybe it’s just my cynical side talking, but Brown-Forman embraced the woke/DEI stuff shortly before acquiring three distilleries in Scotland and one in Ireland. This may have been seen as necessary to get the sellers to seal the deal.
