Trump moves to steal momentum from Harris; allies split on cooling broadsides against her
The Washington Times ^ | Friday, August 16, 2024 | Seth McLaughlin

Donald Trump’s allies say his winning formula entering the final 80 days of the campaign is to break through a biased mainstream media and remind voters Vice President Kamala Harris served alongside President Biden and owns his biggest mishaps — namely on the economy.

Suddenly locked in a dogfight or trailing in battleground states, Mr. Trump is facing renewed pressure to rethink his approach and tamp down the bombastic, stream-of-consciousness style that has made him the king of the GOP and the nation’s most polarizing political figure.

Trump loyalists and GOP strategists maintain he does not need to do anything drastic. Indeed, they say a few tweaks around the edges will jog the electorate’s memory of Ms. Harris’ record as Biden’s co-pilot and stick a fork in her extended political honeymoon.

“The key to destroying Kamala is putting her in the hot seat for her unpopular policy views while pressuring her to defend those views to the media,” said a Trump world adviser. “The more voters hear from Kamala directly, the worse it will be for her because people will see with their own eyes the propaganda about who Kamala is doesn’t match the reality.”

Tip-toeing in that direction, Mr. Trump is picking up the pace on the campaign trail and zeroing in on the Biden-Harris economic record.

He warned voters at recent campaign stops that Ms. Harris’ push for higher taxes and more government controls would usher in a 1929-style economic crash. He also mocked the idea that Ms. Harris would prioritize the economy on Day One in office.

Isn’t that what all the pearl-clutchers here say he never does — focus on the issues?

He doesn’t have to be nice about it. He doesn’t have to stop calling her names. He doesn’t have to be a “gentleman” — kaMAHla is damn sure not a lady! He can beat her to a bloody pulp with her record and her marxism and her policies. And JD Vance can do the same with her VP “dad guy” loser.

And President Trump and VP Vance will absolutely mop the floor with the Vibe-y Brat and Whitey Taco Dad in the debates.

She literally just came out for price controls that alone should win him the election but it’s up to Donald to get that message across

Continue to bait and insult her as PART of the campaign. Woman or not, if she doesn’t fight back, she will be seen as weak. And like Osama said:

“When people see a strong horse and a weak horse, they naturally choose the strong horse.”

I suppose it depends on the polls, but he isn’t trailing in battleground states.

My bet is, the Harris team focus group’s every proposal. A large portion of voters, know nothing about economics. I fear she is reaching them.

I would follow RCP more closely if it didn’t include such bogus polls. Honestly, I’m hard-pressed to decipher which polls are accurate these days.

Trump’s best commercials are those of Kamala spouting her own word salad and/or looney ideas.

If she is not going to make public appearances to reveal who she really is, then use video of her own words in the past.

"She Whose Fellatio Shall Not Be Named"

This country sucks almost as much as Kamguzzala did on her way up the political ladder.

There will be another bump in the polls for her after the Democrat National Convention. There always is after a convention. Then her popularity will level out. Trump has a huge base, and she doesn’t. I think the Democrat’s true goal is to get the house or senate.

He’s fighting a media that controls the message and rigs the polling.

“Woman or not, if she doesn’t fight back, she will be seen as weak.”

Let’s see now, with all the female super heroes in the movies with their girl power going beyond what Clint Eastwood and Arnold Schwarzenegger are capable of doing, it seems contradictory to worry about Trump going after Heels Up.

There is only one thing liberals hate more than they love abortion and that is war. Anti War is the ticket. grab Tulsi and get that message plastered everywhere.RFK will own the anti war issue if DJT doesn’t claim the anti war throne.

Trump seriously damages his opponents with his insult comic routine. Kamala and Democrats fear ridicule. It’s Alinksy’s Rule number 5! Anyone who advises Trump to tone down or dial back his acerbic wit is a traitor.

Trump must make a more consistent effort, thru example and illustration, using economics and historical references in his speaking, to demonstrate how the leftists’ plans and procedures fail.

Trump must be more able to explain, well, such as present-day U.S. Senator from Tennessee, Bill Hagerty can . . . and President Ronald Reagan could.

“She literally just came out for price controls that alone should win him the election but it’s up to Donald to get that message across”

And he called her a Communist for it, so he’s not exactly holding back. Fortunately, price controls are too radical for even some of the big lefty media outlets to support, which should make his task a little easier.
