Ukraine's Kursk attack surprised Russia and perhaps some of its backers

BRUSSELS -- Ukraine has stolen the battlefield initiative from Russia with its cross-border offensive into the Kursk region. But its Western backers have, for the most part, remained curiously silent about the surprise move.

The move also appeared to surprise many of Ukraine’s supporters at NATO and the European Union. It’s unclear how extensively they were briefed ahead of the offensive, if at all, even though U.S. President Joe Biden insists that he’s been kept abreast of developments since.

“I’ve spoken with my staff on a regular basis probably every four or five hours for the last six or eight days,” Biden told reporters on Tuesday. The Ukrainian offensive, he said, is “creating a real dilemma for (Russian President Vladimir) Putin.”

Pressed for more, Biden said only: “That’s all I’m going to say about it while it’s active.”

We all know Biden makes no decisions. None.

His puppet masters know. Who are they?

I think Obama and Pelosi, under the financial control of the Soros family, who, in the end, is being run by the Father of Lies, the Prince of Darkness, the Devil, Lucifer, Beelzebub, etc., etc.

Sometimes the “Hail Mary” strategy works. Will this cause a long term change in the war? That remains to be seen

According to one of Alex Mercouris’ contact, the Ruskies have known for some two months or so that Zelensky has been wanting to invade Russia. The Russians obliged and allowed them to do it. Why would they do that? I have no idea.

When you stoop so low that you have to use scare tactics like the democrats, you lose all credibility.

Whey not just argue about how it’s ill-advised and why?

I suspect that Zelinskyy and whoever is on his team took matters into their own hands this time, figuring that “consulting” with the bumbling US and NATO would only interfere with and hinder his freedom to act. Looks like he was right. IDK how this is going to turn out, but he certainly had the element of surprise.

Why would a disgraced British barrister facing numerous credible fraud allegations have access to internal Russian intelligence? Either he’s a liar or the Russians are a leaky sieve. Either way, the claim does not pass the smell test.

Yea, and I like your tag line;)

It depletes the AFU quickly. It ended the fledgling China and Indian negotiation efforts. It may lead to a declaration of war by Russia.

I think what would be funny is if the Ruskies allowed it and it ends up backfiring on them.

OTOH, what if the Ukes are playing into Putin’s hand? What is the result that Putin is looking for?

That “invasion” will shorten the war so it’s a good thing.

It may lead to a declaration of war by Russia.

Yes, we tend to forget that it's still a Special Military Operation.

What do you make of Alexander's inside dope from his correspondent, about the heads-up about a Ukie operation a couple of months ago?

I wouldn't have a problem allowing the Ukrainians to develop a salient into Russia, myself.

As I've been pointing out - it's 25 miles wide at the BASE.

Park artillery on either side - it's not too difficult to establish fire control over the supply lines.

Plus, I think the Ukrainians have only established control over parts of the western Kursk road net, and certainly not all of it.

You aren't very familiar with the Interwebs, are you, old fossil dude.

The enemy is going willingly into the surround. And as Alex and Alexander always say: "No reverse gear."

If they let their "backers" know, it would not have been a surprise.

You cannot trust the Biden administration. They are bought and paid for by the Chinese, Russians, Ukrainians, Iranians, and who knows who else.
