53 Two illegal boat migrants died in the English Channel on Sunday morning after setting sail from the beaches of France in an unstable dinghy.
A total of 25 migrants have now lost their lives in the Channel while trying to reach British shores since the start of the year after two people drowned on Sunday off the coast of Calais, the Daily Mail reports.
According to French maritime officials, around 50 other migrants were brought back to France despite the official policy of Paris to assist migrants in reaching British territorial waters rather than returning them over supposed safety concerns.

Free speech is under attack in England, here lately, especially with their new Prime Minister.
If I were to respond to this article with a basic, seemingly benign remark such as “Sorry, NOT Sorry!”, I could be fined or jailed for Hate Speech against minorities.
That approach hasn’t worked in Australia or in Canada either.
It is sorta like some clowns invade my property while clearly trying to steal stuff (burglary) — and they die in the process by falling into a ditch.
Uhh, WUT, am I suppose to grieve? Ain’t gonna.
The real scandal is that so much of the world is so horrible, run by evil maniacs, that people risk death to get to the West. But there’s nothing we can do. Over a trillion dollars have been transferred to Africa vias NGOs and Govt programs. Every cent of it is wasted. If the borders were protected from this invasion the people might fight to change their Govts. But it’s not our responsibility to provide free stuff for the world.
We have our own internal corrupt forces to be dealt with. Hopefully soon.
Sounds like an act of war to me.
