Belatedly Russia Moves to Protect Kursk Nuclear Power Plant
Kyiv Post ^ | 7 August, 2024

As Ukrainian forces move closer to the Kursk NPP Moscow is finally taking steps to protect it and its all-women guard force, but will it be too little, too late.

The independent news site “Important Stories,” citing employees from the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant, says that the facility has been put at risk by negligence and hubris. As the Ukrainian Armed Forces move further into the Kursk region and are now less than 70 kilometers (45 miles) from the plant, Moscow is apparently moving Pantsir self-propelled, medium-range surface-to-air defense systems into the area.

According to an anonymous source from within the plant nearly all the male security staff have been mobilized following Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine thus the site is currently guarded by women. Until the last two days the NPP management have largely ignored any threat even though the nearby city of Kurchatov has already been attacked by UAVs.

According to several pro-Russian milbloggers residents have begun to be evacuated from Kursk’s border areas and Ukraine forces occupied 11 settlements and advanced up to 25 kilometers (15 miles) into Russian territory on a 10 kilometer (6 mile) wide front.

As the short uprising of the Wagner group showed, Russia has all military tied up in Ukraine and does not have the forces to defend itself.
These Ukrainian soldiers could do what Wagner was talked out of.
Just go all the way to Moscow!

....The report also provides a list, which runs to 60 pages, of influential individuals or groups awarded lucrative oil allocations by Iraq because they “espoused pro-Iraq views or organized anti-sanctions activities.” Here again, the range is astonishing. In addition to Messrs. Galloway and Pasqua (each of whom was given oil allocations of 11 million barrels), one finds the names of a pro-Iraq Vatican priest (2.5 million), the Palestinian Liberation Front (nine million), the French-Iraqi Amity society (11.8 million), Burma’s forestry minister (27 million), the Orthodox Church of Russia (two million), and the Presidential Office of Russia (21.3 million).

Among the handful of Americans named by Mr. Volcker is Shakir Al-Khafaji (12 million barrels), a well-connected Detroit-area businessman who led a delegation of anti-war Congressional Democrats to Baghdad in September 2002 and who funded an anti-sanctions documentary produced by former weapons inspector Scott Ritter. Mr. Al-Khafaji’s financial involvement with Saddam was first documented in these pages by our Robert Pollock in March 2004.

Putinescu? That’s a Romanian name. I didn’t know Putin was Romanian.

I am hoping Putin drops a few supersonic missiles at Zelensky central. Take out all power and water for whatever hidey hole his is currently in. END THIS NOW. Anything else that happens, America will lay in rubble.

WE are in the wrong, WE set up Zelensky, and are fighting this war to enrich private corporations and billionaires. America doesn’t give two shits about Freedom or Liberty, at home or abroad.

Who in hell cares?

If Russia decided (with advanced warning, of course) to unload its nuclear arsenal on what's anything east of the Dnieper river, I'd celebrate the fact we no longer would be wasting tax dollars and resources on neo-Nazi land.

Why waste troops, Ukraine could just take it out with one of those long range US missiles we gave them.
