Doesn’t the State Legislature appoint the winning slate to vote in the real Presidential election - the one in December?
What turns a non-appointed Elector candidate into a “fake Elector”? I mean, if Ross Perot had appointed me as a 1992 Perot Elector, once NH appointed the Clinton Electors, would that turn me into a “fake Elector”?
How about if I marched around with a sign saying the Legislature meant to appoint me, would that turn me into a “fake Elector”?

In Arizona law, you’re only a real elector if you’ve been elected in the primary AND have an Elector Certificate signed by the Governor. Anything else that is submitted to the Electoral College is considered a forgery.
