The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced Sunday that soldiers had uncovered a massive smuggling tunnel underneath the border between Gaza and Egypt in the area of Rafah — where the U.S. had cautioned Israel not to go. _____________
In a statement, the IDF and the Israel Security Agency (ISA, or Shin Bet, or Shabak) said:
Recently, IDF troops have been working to locate and destroy underground tunnel routes in the Philadelphi area, and so far, the troops have located and destroyed dozens of routes.
At the beginning of last week, in one of the operations to locate underground tunnel routes in the Philadelphi area, a three meter high tunnel was uncovered on the Philadelphi Corridor.
At this stage, the troops are continuing with the investigation and neutralization of the underground tunnel route, as well as other large-scale routes that were found.
The IDF will thoroughly destroy all the underground infrastructure on the Philadelphi Corridor and will act with determination to prevent their formation in the future. __________
Prior to May, the Biden administration had warned Israel not to enter Rafah, even withholding weapons to pressure Israel to stay out of the area. Israel decided to enter Rafah anyway due to its strategic importance to the war against Hamas.
IDF control of the Philadelphi Corridor, which is a road along the border, has been at stake in recent negotiations with Hamas over a hostage-ceasefire deal. Hamas and the U.S. want Israel to cede control of the corridor, but Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been reluctant to give it up.
Control of the corridor allows the IDF to choke Hamas’s weapons supply; Israel does not trust Egyptian or U.S. guarantees to monitor the border effectively.

Is that a Humvee driving through it? It is a wide body vehicle, whatever it is.
Need to pump a couple hundred tons of cement into it.
“Prior to May, the Biden administration had warned Israel not to enter Rafah”
Sounds like we now know why...
Gee. How do you think Iran managed to transport all those weapons and missiles into Gaza? Egypt was well paid and complicit. Its an illusion to think Israel has any real friends in the region.
Butt, butt, butt cease fire talks and stuff.....

This is why there are three Hamas billionaires holed up in Qatar. Though the IDF offed one in Iran the other day. Hamas was making a mint smuggling into Gaza. So were an elite crew of Egyptians. Egypt is neutral to friendly towards Israel under President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi. But meanwhile, one Egyptian faction was getting very wealthy from the Gaza smuggling. Abdel Fattah el-Sisi had to know about this.
I always knew Hamas was getting rich from smuggling. I had no idea Egyptians were too. This is all ended, now that Israel controls Rafah. Though I am sure there are more smuggling tunnels for the IDF to find and eliminate.
There are massive smuggling tunnels on our southern border as well.
Hey, Hamas had to do something with all the aid money that we sent to the Palestinians.
So many tunnels... where did Hamas hide the dirt?
They built huts and floors with it.

Imagine if they applied this time, money and energy turning Mediterranean real estate into a resort and desirable destination. They are Mideast ghetto people.
Stupid question, I know. What would Gaza look like if all of the money, time, engineering that has gone into the tunnels had instead been used to make Gaza a pleasant place to live?
There are probably many of these under US borders, too.
There is simply no way that the highest echelons of the Egyptian military and government did not know about this. Now is not the time, but Egypt needs to be held to account for allowing Hamas to be armed to the teeth, not for actually providing arms themselves. This is how Arab nations adhere to treaties, and there is a lesson for that for the entire West.
As for the tunnel itself, a nice few tons of Semtex will take care of that problem. Is real shit only plug its end of that tunnel, and watch to see where else explosions occur when they set that load off.
“ Is real shit ”

Should be “Israel should….” Siri still doesn’t understand me.
watch the stinking politicians give away victory and find a way to keep these dam*ed Arab terrorist murder gangsters both ALIVE and In Occupation of Gaza
same for the north
the politicians always give away victory. until one day there won’t be a victory and the stinking politios won’t have anything to give away or sell anymore
That was how a KFC outlet in Egypt made deliveries in Gaza.
Should not have said anything, just round up everyone in south Gaza march them through the tunnel to the Egyptian side, Then seal the Gaza side.
