NYT: Netanyahu Has ‘Gone Rogue’ by Defending Israel Against Terror
Breitbart ^ | 08/02/2024 | Joel B. Pollak

Posted on 08/02/2024 1:13:54 PM PDT by ChicagoConservative27

The New York Times published an analysis Friday in which it claimed that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had “gone rogue” by killing terrorists who had killed Israeli citizens, rather than acquiescing.

The story, by Steven Erlanger, is just one of many stories that appeared Friday in the center-left media — both in Israel and the United States — accusing Netanyahu of chasing victory at the price of a ceasefire-hostage deal.

Erlanger, citing “analysts,” wrote:

The assassinations of senior Hezbollah and Hamas figures abroad have now sharply raised the risks of a larger regional war as Iran, Hamas and Hezbollah prepare retaliation, analysts say.

Absent a clear goal in the war, however, Mr. Netanyahu’s defiance is dividing Israel from its allies and the country itself. It has further shaken trust in his leadership. It is fueling suspicions that he is keeping the country at war to keep himself in power. It is intensifying a deep rift inside the society — about the fate of Israeli hostages, the conduct of the war and the rule of law — that is challenging the institutional bonds that hold Israel together.

Israelis who don’t support Netanyahu (and his ally Trump) are fools like flower children who face armed enemies with good vibrations. Deadly mistake.

The river to the sea means the Jews in he State of Israel would be dead, not singing Kumbaya.

Netanyahu knows better than the New York Times.
The Hamas terrorists don't live by the rule book.

The classic leftist communist policy on rules:

Rules for thee, but not for me.

The NYT is doing its best to push a plan where Israel leaves
Hamas leadership in tact in the GAZA Strip, and allows them
to regroup, resupply, and pull more stunts like that of
October the 7th.

Would the NYTs favor such a plan if a terrorist group attacked
its employees and offices?

These people are devout terrorist sympathizers.

Wait, isn’t this the war started by the OTHER side? No column-inches about that, no wailing about how Hamas is going to alienate themselves from society? You’re looking grayer than usual, lady.

What Netanyahu did was to violate the left’s hierarchy of victimhood. Boo frickin hoo.

For the Left, the worst crime is to be a Nationalist. That’s the sort of thing that makes you “literally Hitler”. So, to be a head of state who supports his own country and his own people — that’s [shudder] the worst thing ever.

If it was Hamas or somebody that the Hierarchy of Victimhood ranked higher than upper East Side editors of bird TP, probably.

Bibi wants his war to continue indefinitely.

It keeps him in power!

That’s all that matters to Netanyahu.

Correct but most American Jews hate Netanyahu and Trump.

My understanding is that you are correct. And, I believe, that about half of Israel feels the same way.

There is no reason to feel that Jews are any more united than any other culture.

If polls are accurate (as always)

Recent results: (Pew Poll)
American Jews report feeling a host of emotions – including sadness, anger, exhaustion and fear – in reaction to the Oct. 7 Hamas attack on Israel and the ensuing Israeli invasion of Gaza. Nine-in-ten say they think discrimination against Jews has risen in the United States since the Israel-Hamas war began. And three-quarters say they have felt personally offended by something they’ve seen in the news or on social media about the war.
By comparison, 89% of Jewish Americans say Israel’s reasons for fighting Hamas are valid – far more than the 58% of all U.S. adults who say this. Younger Jews are less likely than their older counterparts to say Israel’s reasons for fighting Hamas are valid, though about eight-in-ten or more in every age group say this.

But Jewish adults under 35 are more likely than older Jews to say that Hamas’ reasons for fighting are valid: 31% of younger Jews take this position, compared with about one-in-ten of those ages 35 and older.

Here is the link:

https://www.pewresearch.org/short-reads/2024/04/02/how-us-jews-are-experiencing-the-israel-hamas-war/

In 2019
Israel, the world’s only Jewish-majority country, is a subject of special concern to many Jews in the United States. Caring about Israel is “essential” to what being Jewish means to 45% of U.S. Jewish adults, and an additional 37% say it is “important, but not essential,” according to a new Pew Research Center survey that was fielded from Nov. 19, 2019

Predictably there is a good deal of sorrow over Israel taking out terrorists. I appreciate the article by Daniel Greenfield, because he makes his points by using Islams’s own media sources. Just click on those blue highlights. I find it hard to follow the reasoning from MEMRI TV to the statements by Reuters, New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, etc.

Then again, it is easy to understand considering history. Abba Eban was an observer at the UN when delegates debated an independent state for Israel. A diplomat told him that he believed 6,000,000 dead Jews had bought no more than two years of tolerance. The popular 6,000,000 figure does not reveal that two out of three Jews were murdered in Europe, including European Russia. Such a level of success meant there had to be cooperation from the subjugated regions and countries.

Media Mourns ‘Moderate,’ ‘Pragmatic’ Hamas Leader Who Wanted to Kill All the Jews

https://www.frontpagemag.com/media-mourns-moderate-pragmatic-hamas-leader-who-wanted-to-kill-all-the-jews/

Here is the letter I sent on the subject yesterday, which of course will not be published.

Terrorists Should Be Killed

The idea of “bringing terrorists to justice” is a breathtaking mockery of any civilized understanding of justice. The feral psychopaths of Hamas and Hezbollah never display the civility required for Geneva Convention definitions for militia, armed force, or volunteer corps, but are so dissociated from country or culture, so committed to butchery that they best match Webster’s definition for a virus. They are not insurgents or freedom fighters, and when captured, certainly not prisoners of war. These murders are not members of an organized resistance movement carrying arms openly, and they have no distinctive identifier. The Geneva Conventions describe terrorists as beyond the pale and they are to be eliminated with any means effective.

Regarding the IDF attacks resulting in civilian casualties, I am also reminded of Geneva Conventions provisions placing responsibility for those deaths. Articles 28 and 29 of the Fourth Geneva Convention says the terrorists are responsible for any civilian deaths. Those civilians qualify as Protected Persons within the enemy’s physical control and cannot be used to render certain points and areas immune from military operations. The Convention articles are as follows:

ART. 28. — The presence of a protected person may not be used to render certain points or areas immune from military operations.

ART. 29. — The Party to the conflict in whose hands Protected Persons may be, is responsible for the treatment accorded to them by its agents, irrespective of any individual responsibility which may be incurred.

May ALL NYT employees just happen to be vacationing in the middle of Gaza during Israel’s next attack. Israel will get double benefits from the bombs. Eff each and every one of those low IQ losers. Too bad they failed studies classes and had to take something even easier.
