New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu (R) is calling on Republicans to “stop the trash talk” leading up to November, arguing such attacks will do little to shore up support for the GOP ticket.
“As Donald Trump and my fellow Republicans navigate the next steps of their campaigns, my message to them is this: The path to victory in November is not won through character attacks or personal insults,” Sununu wrote Thursday in an op-ed published by The New York Times.
Sununu argued the “catchy one-liners” against Vice President Harris, including labelling her as a “bum,” “not a serious person,” and “bottom of the barrel,” do not connect with the independent voters who could be crucial to the election.

He’s Deep State.
Nuff said.
Much better to “stand up for yourself” and alienate the people you need to win the election, eh?
I agree that ad-hominem attacks are not helpful. Attacks based on past performance or contradictory current claims most definitely are.
i.e. it was never good to call Chris Christy fat.

Yeah. That was not lost on me. It’s why I responded the way I did above. As long as the scope of his complaint is limited to ad-hominem attacks via name calling, I agree with him.
Yes.
It’s always good to be polite with criminals while they are robbing you.
“Here, use my handkerchief to wipe the prints off of your gun.”
Racist “distracting rheotic” sure is working for the far left turd rollers and their toads in the far left “media”. U.S. residents are licking that puke up. Not so much being licked up by REAL, natural born Americans.
In one sense he is right. The GOP needs a focused message of what a disaster the last four years have been and how Harris has been a part of that. Making jokes makes the converted laugh, but it doesn’t win over moderates who have a negative view of Trump.
Are her parents alive?
Pantywaist wrings his hands! Film at eleven!!
He’s correct. Republicans and Democrats are locked in. They both know who they’ll be voting for already.
It’s the wishy-washy undecided and Independents you have to woo. Someone explain to me how name-calling, rather than detailed policy helps that.
The point is Trump needs to connect to Independents who are not okay with all the name calling. Sununu is right on this, and we shouldn’t automatically shoot the messenger. It’s going to take every voter Trump can get to win against the Dem cheating, and he shouldn’t alienate the Independents with the name calling, which I see as basically an unforced error.
i hate to say it because he drives me nutz - but i do agree. if you’re going to disparage someone, take the Reagan approach a la “there he goes again” or something that makes the point but doesn’t degrade the speaker and offend part of the population.
If you want to see the direction of the GOP, look at who WAS NOT at the Convention and WHO DID NOT speak. The sifting continues and soon you will be left with a party and not an appeasement, go along to get along, Uni Party establishment. And that will be a good thing.
During the N.H. Executive Council meeting on Oct. 13, 2021, Gov. Chris Sununu seemingly ordered State Police to unlawfully arrest nine citizens who were civilly and peacefully watching the meeting, evidently without cause. He then, acting like a despot, used the opportunity to chastise anti-vaccine-mandate activists after the meeting by calling them “fringe anti-government” types, accusing them of disrupting the meeting, even though there is significant video evidence (see below) proving that his claims are not true.

Sununu decided not to run for governor again because republicans refuse to vote for him.
Psyops Two is when they have RINO Sununu to chastise us for reciprocating.
Trump gets it. We need to get it.
This is all stale Stalinist stuff but unless you root it out, "freeze it, personalize it", etc., then it is still potent.
Point it out and use it against them.
"Use their own rules against them."
We must neutralize all this Maoist Stalinist stuff by pointing it out and reciprocating, lest it remain potent.
Have you ever wondered why you can still call pointing out communism "McCarthyism" and it still makes people afraid of what they said?
I am concerned about your concern.
Please tell me how you came to be a conservative so that I can best respond to you.
Always a one-way street.
Just pound them on the issues the hypocrisy, the radicalism, the extremism grocery store prices gasoline prices defund the police plenty plenty of material there without taking the low road stop the damn namecalling. it’s childish and doesn’t work with the people Trump needs to convince.
