Donald Trump’s would-be assassin Thomas Matthew Crooks made more than two-dozen “firearms- related purchases” starting a year before he tried to kill the former president, carefully covering his tracks by using a fake name and trying to hide his activity online, according to law enforcement sources.
Last spring, Crooks, 20, began to gear up — making more than 25 separate purchases from online gun supply stores using an alias, sources told The Post.
Crooks took great pains to conceal his online activities, which shows he was engaged in meticulous planning even well ahead of the campaign rally, sources said. It was not immediately known if any of the purchases were actual firearms, though federal law requires background and ID checks before buying a gun in most cases.
During the first half of 2024, the gunman also bought six “chemical precursors” that he used to make the rudimentary explosive devices later found in his home and car. These purchases were also made under an alias, sources said.

And he had a Free All day pass to do whatever he pleased at a Trump rally.
Aliases. He carried No ID as he spent all day there on his coming out day.
That rehab center kitchen job sure paid him well enough to make all these gun purchases.
Just like many mass murderers like the San Bernardino Christmas shooting and the Orlando nightclub massacre - The FBI knew what Crooks was doing and what he was going to do.
They Knew.

So what was Crooks alias name? All this information is being fed by the FBI.
The campaign had no plans for this venue up to 2 weeks prior.
It is this reality that gets in the way of nearly all theories.
Yep.
If he was being this meticulous it explains why he didn’t have social media.
I read elsewhere that he had a remote detonator in his hand to set off the explosives in his car (diversion to provide a get away?)
But this raises other questions…
Why was his home scrubbed? That implicates the parents or they were away and he did it before they got home…
The rifle he used was his dad’s - the other ammo, precursors were all affordable on his salary if you consider it was spread out over a year.
So… my theory. Kid was AntiFa and had ties to the DNC (or Chinese spies but I’m being redundant) who insured the SS was hamstrung that day…
How do you get a credit card under an alias?
or
How do you use an alias on a credit card purchase?
They make it sound like he was buying guns. It actually reads like he was buying reloading materials and maybe ammo.
Every time I’ve bought ammo on line, I needed to send them my firearms ID card and License. Maybe thats because I live in the PRO Massachusetts.
But you can also buy gunpowder and primers online. Perfectly legal.
Some of the hyperbole to these moron writers is just another Tuesday for a responsible firearms owner.
He may have just been a kook and would’ve killed different people. That’s a theory that jibes.
.
He was going to travel.
He drove 40 mins, but it was coming to the state or close.
Not really - they’ve already said that he was scoping out multiple targets on both sides of the aisle so he had worked up the general gist of how/what he was going to do and all the supplies ready to execute.
All he needed was a target of opportunity and a bunch of keystone kops to let it happen.
If one is being generous… and I’m not…
RE: So what was Crooks alias name?
Bought weapons under the name Ben Dover.
You’d still need to show valid id to buy gunpowder wouldn’t you? Unless he made his own?
Also he and his dad were members of the local gun range so I don’t think this was to buy ammo - I’m thinking stuff like the range finder, drone, explosives precursors, etc
.
Why are they protecting the peeps in charge, on-site, on that very day?
That’s pretty damning. There’s no need to protect people that are incompetent and that bad. Makes one think there’s more to it.
Give the FBI a break. It takes time and devotion to find unfortunate Christians to prosecute, create fake Trump/Russian profiles, and sooooo very much more.
“...the explosives in his car...”
So whatzz up wid the Van we saw being “towed” away?
Doesn’t say he bought “guns”. Could have been lots of things, including the wireless fireworks detonator which cost under $200. Not difficult at all to believe for someone living with his parents and probably not paying much of anything for his room and board.
.
They’ve fed so much disinformation into the case, we don’t even know.
I think there’s something there they want to hide.
