Biden set to unveil major Supreme Court reform plans next week

President Joe Biden is reportedly planning to unveil a dramatic Supreme Court reform next week in an attempt to overhaul the high court.

Two people familiar with the matter told Politico that the president is likely to endorse establishing term limits for justices, and bring in a code of ethics.

The 81-year-old is expected to push for an amendment that would limit immunity for presidents and other officeholders.

His amendment would come directly after the court ruled that presidents are shielded from prosecution for officials acts, in a case brought by Donald Trump.

It is said that Biden will call for the overhaul while on a trip to Texas, where he is set to speak at the Lyndon Baines Johnson presidential library in Austin.

The White House declined to comment, referring to remarks earlier this week from his press secretary that he believes the SC should be 'held to a high ethics'

After the court ruled on Trump's immunity case, Biden called the decision 'dangerous' and said it would embolden Trump if the Republican is reelected.

He warned that the conservative-leaning court 'fundamentally changed' a bedrock principle of the nation.

Biden said: 'This nation was founded on the principle that there are no kings in America.

'Today's decision almost certainly means that there are virtually no limits on what a president can do.

'This is a fundamentally new principle and it's a dangerous precedent. The only limits will be self-imposed by the president alone.'

The Court's 6-3 ruling practically insured that Trump wouldn't face another trial before the November election.

Biden called the decision a continued 'attack' on 'wide range of long established legal principles,' pointing to the reversal of Roe v. Wade and controversial decisions on civil and voting rights.

Lil Joey will be doing no such thing. He will be asleep with his thumb in his mouth, and some pudding on the side table for if and when he wakes up.

His Marxists, Ivy league, 30 something staff will be drafting up the “reform” plan.

FOAD, the lot of you.

Pandering to the far left. They KNOW this will go no-where, but they can use it for the “If you’ll re-elect us, and give us a big enough majority in congress, we can get this through!” (Knowing it’ll never happen, and they’ll never have to live up to those promises. If they ever get close, they’ll have to designate some “safe” Dems to be opponents so that it still comes up short).

Anything coming out of Joe Biden’s office must be rejected until he takes and passes a cognitive abilities test in public. Same thing with any executive orders he signs. Too much irrefutable evidence that his elevator ain’t makin’ it to the top floor to have this country governed by a senile person, elected or appointed.

I found some rather creative workarounds for legislating SCOTUS term limits in the leftosphere.

I propose a Constitutional Amendment to provide for penalties to be assessed for any politician not honoring his/her oath to uphold the Constitution. Right now, the only solution is the ballot box.

The Supreme Court should rule Biden’s reform plans unconstitutional !

Exactly. This house won’t agree and the senate isn’t filibuster proof. So, it would have to wait until the new president and congress is sworn in. And Joe will be gone

Daily Mail: Two people familiar with the matter told Politico...

Dems uttering the word "amendment" may not realize how difficult that would be. In his speech, Biden didn't use the word.

Biden made a video talking about "SCOTUS reform," but as usual, it was short on specifics.

There are a lot of harebrained ideas floating around, and Kamala might suggest even worse. She can raise money by promising such changes. The vaguer the better. IMO riots are likely somewhere.

Amendment? Ha! Good luck with that. It took 10 years of whining and wailing and the ‘process’ to dump the idea of the Equal Rights Amendment. And, he’d need the HOUSE and SENATE to even think about packing the court with more leftists. This is all just diversionary BS.

I agree. Nothing but fodder to keep Americans’ minds off the fact a vile, perverted, criminal scumbag demented politician is technically in charge for the next 6 months.

What a waste of time, no way 38 states would approve anything.

zero chance of passing a constitutional amendment, but Biden is welcome to waste what is left of his presidency trying!
