"I could MAYBE see three or four casings bouncing around his feet and his body landing on them."

I don't think empty cartridges ejected from a semiautomatic rifle would be bouncing around his feet, particularly if he was firing prone.

To think a "professional assasin" could not put a round (s) within 1/2 inch of the center of a six inch plate at 140 yds is simply idiocy on parade. Even if the pie plate was spinning on it's vertical axis, the hit would be dead center.

A .223 travels 420 ft in .1 sec. The one who grazed Trump's ear was not a professional, or even a well practiced amatuer.

I do not know where the “professional” fired from—so I cannot address your comment.

Perhaps others have some thoughts.

“First how did the rifle end up so far away from Crooks?”

Probably moved to keep it out of the way of all the people who were concentrating on the body. Likely waiting on the forensics guys to bag & tag it.

Hmm...something must be wrong with my AR...its ejects casings up to 6 - 8 feet away

True that.

Just a further clarification—we know the direction but not the distance of the “professional” shooter.

That counting is by a guy who had just been told to watch out for them, and what he could immediately see at a glance without moving. That isn’t remotely dispositive.

Maybe there weren’t more, but that off-hand count represents a minimum, and nothing more.

And this video shows the view (from another point in time) of the second story windows, and that they could open.

When you plan out the interlocking fields of fire, you make sure no areas of interest are left uncovered. That’s just basic stuff.

They don’t have to worry about bullets. They duck & hide just like everyone else. 🤣

And there you have it. First three shots came from inside the building, next five from Crooks, last one from counter-sniper ~10 seconds later.

If that were so, why did they miss? They certainly had two relatively clean shots. One Trump moved suddenly, but he was still there for the second shot. For a real shooter, that is an easy shot.

Agreed, so let’s see the evidence markers and a clear, unredacted image of the alleged shooter and rifle. Was he shot once or twice? I’ve heard he was shot in the foot as well as having his teeth blown out by the head shot. Let’s see it.

There are allegedly 5 casings. Were they planted? Are there more? How many cartridges were in the magazine? Do you trust the LEO agencies involved? Evidently there was a 12 minute gap between the first shot and the rooftop being “secured”. A lot can happen in 12 minutes.

So much BS, so little time.

1, the spasm on death (least likely).
2, there are already people up on the roof, and their first job would be to see that the shooter was confirmed as disarmed.
3, there are people walking around the scene and that is a key piece of evidence you don’t want stepped on, so it is moved further away after 1 and 2.

Was the tape there before the shooting?

Yes, as were ty-wraps, originally. They used those to “secure” the gate during the rally, rather ineptly. In another video, after the reaction team’s struggle with the first gate, they cut the ty-wrap and pulled on the gate to dislodge it enough to get through.

I suspect that a detailed analysis of many events in the past would reveal similar vulnerabilities. It is probably a miracle that such a thing didn’t happen sooner.

This seems very likely, and there had been complaints for months. Poor training has gone on for a while, as has the lowering of standards. Bongino was complaining about lack of focus by the leadership (apparently the new acting director) all the way back in February.

“Ineptly” — no kidding. Yellow “Police Line” tape is a first line of defense?

The first responding team through (with the body cam) took off their backpacks to squeeze through the gate and between the “Police Line” tape. Then they put their backpacks back on.

Based on the University of Denver expert audio analysis, the first three were methodical, maybe 0.5 seconds apart consistent with careful aim, controlled breathing, care squeeze of the trigger. Then the next five were rapid fire, maybe 0.1 seconds apart. That’s consistent with the first three being the pro and the group of five being Crooks.

It’s also consistent with his changing his targeting from shooting at Trump, to just firing up the crowd.

I hope the heck they had sense enough to not move the rifle around.

They are going to move it out of reach of the shooter, and may move it far enough to not get stepped on. That’s the first thing in an active situation.
