President Kamala Harris after President Biden’s announcement that he would leave the 2024 presidential race, a vast majority of prominent Republicans have treated the development with suspicion or scorn.
A New York Times analysis of statements by Republican senators, representatives and governors found that their reactions to Ms. Harris’s presumptive candidacy and Mr. Biden’s withdrawal clustered around several themes, including the opinions that Mr. Biden must resign or that the events of the past few days amounted to election subversion or a bloodless coup. Recent polling suggests nearly 9 in 10 Americans believe Mr. Biden’s decision to step aside was the right one.
Several officials also suggested that Mr. Biden — who had been in Delaware recovering from Covid-19 but returned to the White House on Tuesday — had gone missing. A greater number made statements attacking Ms. Harris’s record, while a small handful posted positive or supportive comments. Emphasis in these quotations was added by The Times to highlight common themes in the statements.
These statements have tended to argue that Mr. Biden’s decision to end his candidacy was not his own, was not democratic or both. Many have mocked Democrats for positioning themselves as “defenders of democracy” in contrast to Republicans, following attempts by former President Donald J. Trump and his allies to overturn the results of the 2020 election.
Some of this language began to bubble up among Republicans even before Mr. Biden announced that he would drop out. During the Republican National Convention last week, Chris LaCivita, a top adviser to Mr. Trump’s campaign, described the pressure on Mr. Biden to withdraw as an “attempted coup.”

If the NYTs is denying it’s a coup, then it is confirmed that it was a coup.
There was well-publicized pressure from VIPs in the Democrat Party to force Joe to drop out of the race. Pelosi seems to have led the effort. That’s a coup. The party wouldn’t support the nominee chosen by the voters and wanted someone else to be the nominee.
The Communist press will say “there was no coup”. But there was.
May I please offer a slight correction, “the vapid airhead that she is…” thank you.
Harris candidacy? Don’t they gotta wait until the CONvention? Oh, dems. Never mind. They’ll do whatever and get away with it.
Insurrection
It is a fact that Biden was pushed out. That is the very definition of a Palace Coup. Biden will resign as well and it will be all about health reasons.
As much as I despise LBJ, at least when he resigned, he did it eyeball to eyeball with the American public. I believe (I could be wrong) he was not coerced ... I think he made his own decision not to run.
Biden was forced out with threats and promises. That document on twitter was the least personal resignation ever.
I wonder how Jill is holding up. This was a huge double whammy for her. She did not want to lose her kingdom and she surely did not want it to go to Cackles.

Not to disagree, but the palace coup was in 2020. Biden was forced on us and then thrown out by the same people.
Gee, now why would ANYONE be suspicious about anything the democrats do?
I mean it isn’t like they spent 5+ years telling us that a walking Potato was a capable and competent person....
Or over 9 years telling us that Trump was a Russian Spy.
Why, oh why, oh why would anyone dare question the official line from the Democrat party about this???
Just wait tell she does another media interview. The level of stupid is off the charts. They are already deleting any and all past interviews. Yet it is going to happen. They have to get her into public view and so she has to speak. Have your popcorn ready.

Yep. When I want to know what Republicans are thinking, I always consult the NYT.
Not a bloodless coup.
1 - they wanted to assassinate Trump. He got shot in the ear rather than the brain. Plenty of blood drawn by “Lone Gunman” wink wink who was shot dead and bled all over the roof.
2 - drive Biden out with a dose of “Covid” that looks worse than that.
3 - Annoint QueMala and grab DNC $ and delegates.
4 - Act like everything is normal.
