The world recorded its hottest ever day, as many parts of the Mediterranean face extreme wildfire risks.
Sunday witnessed the highest average temperature on Earth, breaching a previous record set a year ago, according to provisional data from the European Union’s Copernicus Climate Change Service.
Global average temperatures have already hit or exceeded a key climate threshold for 12 months, highlighting the challenge in limiting global warming to below 1.5C above the pre-industrial era. Climate change is increasing the frequency and intensity of heat waves, bringing extreme weather events from flooding to wildfires.
Extreme heat has wreaked havoc across many parts of the global economy already this year, disrupting air travel to power grids.
The average temperature for the year through June 2024 was 1.64C higher than the era from 1850 to 1900, according to Copernicus. Last month was the hottest ever June, the 13th consecutive time a month has set a new average temperature record.

If every country on Earth confiscated every penny beyond bare subsistence from every person and spent it all on “climate”, they couldn’t affect the global temperature by one degree or the sea levels by an inch. If you believe otherwise, you have been scammed. The objects of the scam- MONEY and POWER.
They lie to you in seeking that money and power, and many of you believe them. Though life on Earth is carbon-based, they have convinced you that carbon is a pollutant rather than the basic building block of life as we know it. Atmospheric carbon dioxide is four hundredths of one percent. If it was five time greater the only difference we’d notice is the plant life around us thriving. And the dominant greenhouse gas is water vapor.
The “elite” want you frightened. They want to ban fossil fuels and nuclear energy. Since the alternate technologies are not nearly capable of replacing them, you’ll freeze in the dark. But THEY won’t!
You cannot control the climate; you must adapt to it.
Well, at least the title indicates hottest day ‘recorded’.

We had a spring a few years back, where the temperature was
5-15% cooler than the average nearly every day for the first
six months of the year.

It was about 20 degrees below the normal temperature all day here on Sunday. Has barely broken 70F for the last five days, and that is here in South-Central New Mexico.
Of course I know that is ‘weather’, not climate, but other than varying solar input, I say that on any average temperatures over the whole globe are in equilibrium, not ‘ Global Warming” : Every ‘record high temperature’ in one place, ‘record low temperatures’ are happening somewhere else.

Yep, everyone knows how incredibly accurate and universally calibrated thermometers were 150 years ago.
115K years ago it was several degrees hotter and the seas were 30 feet higher — with CO2 levels at 280 ppm compared to 420ppm today. So there’s that.
Glaciers shrink and grow, it’s normal. 2,000 years in geologic history is nothing.
I have so called conservative Christian coworkers that have recently bought Tesla (married own a house less than 2 years out of college, ethnic. How? How? I couldn’t afford it after college then and certainly can’t now) and other older gentleman just bragged about his new hybrid. They fail to see that is 2 more ticks for government telling rest of us what to do and restricting energy and increasing gas for rest of us that a) can’t afford those vehicles b) don’t want them and c) want government to stop telling us what can and cannot buy related to anything and specifically climate hoax. If you’ve chosen to buy one, I mean no disrespect at all- but it does promote the agenda
