American Federation of Teachers boss Randi Weingarten has been ripped as an “unhinged lunatic” after she delivered a wild, political rally-style speech suggesting that former President Donald Trump was an “existential threat” to democracy.
The teachers’ union president screamed and shouted at her members as she warned of looming violence and fascism if Trump wins the 2024 election when she took the stage during the AFT’s annual convention in Houston, Texas, on Monday.
“The November elections will determine which path we take as a nation. Progress is indeed possible, but so is the eradication of the rights and freedoms we hold dear,” the union boss declared in her lengthy speech.
“Historians … who study threats to democracy and how fascists come to power conclude that it is seldom a dramatic event or attack that lets fascism in the door. The violence comes later after they are voted in,” she continued.
“Voting is still our best defense against tyranny and fascism.”
At one point, a fired-up Weingarten appeared to jump up and down on stage as she continued to rant into the microphone.

I was an involuntary member of the AFT for many years. Never once did I get to vote for the state or national leaders. They are all picked at conventions.
And who goes to these conventions? Slates of delegates that are chosen at the local level using methods that would make Stalin blush.
The AFT preaches democracy. But the AFT doesn’t practice democracy in the least.
So....Lets talk about Democracy.
When is the last time the voters of the ‘Democratic’ party actually had a say in who would run for POTUS?

1. Avoiding lunatics' control over kids by promoting vouchers, school choice, and restricting teachers' unions to work issues, not curricula or politics, and...
2. A general requirement that anyone in high education-related capacity should be a parent, a successful parent.
That this unelected, crazed leftist hag would have ANY influence (not to mention the huge power she has) over your child’s education should alone be reason enough for a total revolution in education policy in the USA.
