~The FReeper Canteen Presents~ Road Trip: Buckley Space Force Base, Colorado Buckley Space Force Base is a United States Space Force base in Aurora, Colorado named after United States Army Air Service First Lieutenant John Harold Buckley. The base is run by Space Base Delta 2, with major units including the U.S. Space Force's Space Delta 4 (flies the Defense Support Program and Space-Based Infrared System constellations from Buckley SFB and commands the Space Force's missile warning forces), the Colorado Air National Guard's 140th Wing (flies the F-16C Fighting Falcon), the Denver Naval Operations Support Center, and the National Reconnaissance Office's Aerospace Data Facility-Colorado. Following the establishment of the United States Space Force, the 460th Space Wing and Buckley Air Force Base's administration transferred from Air Force Space Command to the new service. On 24 July 2020, the 460th Space Wing was inactivated. Base administration was transitioned to Buckley Garrison and the 460th Operations Group became Space Delta 4, combining the space-based missile warning satellites at Buckley and the former 21st Space Wing's network of ground-based missile warning radars. On 4 June 2021 the Buckley Air Force Base was renamed Buckley Space Force Base. Space Base Delta 2 is responsible for providing base operating support through security, civil engineer, military/civilian personnel, base services, contracting and logistics functions to 93,000 military, civilian, contractor, retiree, veteran and family members at Buckley Space Force Base along with the bases tenant units in the Front Range area defense community. The 460th Contracting Flight (460 CONF) is responsible for military acquisitions, and is divided into three sub-flights: Infrastructure Support, Base Operation Support, and Plans and Programs. Space Delta 4 (DEL 4) is the United States Space Force's missile warning delta and the primary unit at Buckley Space Force Base under Space Operations Command. It was formed from the 460th Operations Group, which managed space-based missile warning satellites, and the 21st Operations Group's ground-based missile warning radars in 2020. Space Delta 4 consists of eight squadrons, one detachment, and one operating location. Learn More About Buckley Space Force Base HERE!! Hiya radu, what's up with you?
I think the last of our triple-digit temps is ending tomorrow thankfully, got to get out first thing in the mornings to do errands before it gets too hot!
Not much else happening my way.

Howdy, Kathy.
Back to the gloomies up there I see. It looks like that big system is on the move, creeping over the mountains. Starting to see a few drops in the cam.
Nice of Mother Nature to be kind and give y’all a pretty weekend.

Sounds like what we’ve had up here since last Wednesday. Nice to have some rain at long last and COOLER temps. Glad you’re enjoying the same.
It looks like what you have now is on it’s way up here. We’ll take it! LOL
Here’s hoping we both get this break for a while yet.

Oooooo! Keeping all appendages crossed that those triple-digit temps are finally on the way out! From what I’ve seen, it’s been just awful out there.
Not a lot going on down here other than rain every day, which we are grateful for. The cooler temps too. I did manage to get a little mowing done yesterday but not nearly enough. Storms rolling in cut that effort short.

Howdy, luvie.
WOOHOO, you got rain today! I hope it added up to a decent amount.
We’ve had some rain today but I haven’t checked the gauge yet.

Hey there, radu!
We sure did! When I got up, I thought I heard water running somewhere in the house. Took me a bit to realize it was hard rain. LOL! I’m not used to hearing that sound. Hubby said we got 1/2” inch, but it sure seemed more than that to me. Anyhow, the 76-degree high was also lovely.
Glad you got some more rain. I’m guessing you didn’t get a chance to do any more mowing today because of that.

Very good! A half inch ain’t too shabby for the desert. And 76 degrees is a fabulous bonus in July.
Nope. No mowing today and there won’t be for a while.
And no tent duty. They took it down Saturday and aren’t going to set back up until Wednesday - maybe. All depends on the weather and it’s supposed to be very wet then too.

Well, I’m glad that they aren’t going to brave it and set up the tent and then get drenched. Smart move. For the sake of Champ, I hope you dry out a bit before you have a total jungle at your house. :)

We were able to stay dry last Friday because we just had light rain all afternoon. Now we’re getting a lot of storms blow through and even if not directly hit, there’s a lot of wind in the surrounding areas. We’d get soaked and a lot of our stuff would get blown away. Heck, we’ve had the tent blown down before. LOL And if a storm does pass right overhead, lightning is a big factor. Just not worth it.
Rain chances start to drop a little this weekend AND the temps start to go back up. :-(

Yeah, they’re going back up here, too, and I am totally dragging my feet about it. Today was a perfect day. Rain in the morning....cool 70s in the afternoon and now it’s 68. PERFECT.

A very pleasant good Tuesday morning and ((HUGS)) to everyone at the Canteen and to all our military at home and abroad. Thanks for your service to our country and thanks Lauren for this morning's thread.
Yesterday was much better than Sunday, no internet breakdowns and we had a spectacular time at the lake:
How's everyone doing this morning?

It won’t get real hot here but it’ll be back in the low 90s. Beyond next Monday, I don’t know if it’ll get hotter. It’s only July and we still have August to go through and it’ll get hotter at some point.
Your day does sound mighty nice. It got up to around 85 here when it was sunny and cooled off a little when rain and storms came through. It’s down to 72 now and very humid. I guess I need to dump the rain gauge because another small round of rain is moving in.

Howdy, E.G.C. ((HUGZ))
Nice that things ran smoother yesterday. A pain when the internet is down.
It’s really greened up over there with the rain you’ve been getting. Gizmo seemed to enjoy that lush green grass ..... and whatever made it smelly in one spot. LOL

Yep and as a matter of fact, I also mowed the lawn yesterday. We had rain over the weekend and we all know what happens don’t we when it rains.((LOL))

We’re a bit humid, but not enough to feel bad with the lower temps. Our high tomorrow is supposed to be 85, like yours was today. We might have to turn the AC back on. LOL!
Oooo....let me know how much rain was in the gauge. Probably much more than we got. But, boy! It was raining so hard when I got up. I was lovin’ it.

Oooooooooh yeah, we do know what happens when it rains. LOL
My place is turning into a jungle with all the rain we’ve been getting. It looks similar to the grass in your pic #3. I got to mow a little bit yesterday but it’s been too wet to do it otherwise.

It doesn’t feel all that bad outside but if it was 82, it would be a little uncomfortable with the humidity.
Only a little over 1/10 in the gauge. We didn’t have long showers today. Had a few fast-moving storms and I imagine there would have been a little more in the gauge if not for the wind. Got a noisy thunderstorm closing in and I need to step out onto the porch to see if there’ll be any cool lightning. :-)
Oh well, plenty of flashing and booming but no cool bolts.
