The most eye-popping part of the latest news about Sen. Justine Wadsack, alleged criminal speeder, is not the way she tried to use her status as a state senator to wiggle out of a traffic ticket.
It is not her sense of entitlement or her bizarre claim of “political persecution” after she was clocked going 71 mph in a 35 mph zone.
No, it’s the reason Sen. Speed Demon was hurtling down the road in Tucson late one Friday night, near the family home she says she doesn’t live in — a house that is miles outside her legislative district.

Many states have exclusions for certain groups. For example, in Alabama state legislators cannot be stopped or ticketed while enroute to a meeting of the legislature. Curiously, this protection extends to members of the state national guard enroute to a drill. I know this to be true since I was once stopped enroute to drill but the state trooper told me he couldn’t ticket me since I was enroute to drill.

Seriously, liberal or conservative, anyone doing that kind of speed in a residential neighborhood needs his wings clipped. I can't imagine how horrible it would be to hit a child or hit someone's pet. It's not worth the minute you might save. Save that minute, but live with the pain and guilt forever.
