Court Blocks Ariz. Illegals from Registering to Vote… Until September

It sounds like common sense, but the radical left elected officials in our state continue to reject this notion, disrespecting the voices of our lawful Arizona voters...'

In a decision released Thursday, the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals determined that illegal immigrants were not allowed to vote in Arizona.

...

However, the ruling will apply only through the primary elections..

With an appeals court scheduled to hear the case in September, it leaves open the possibility that the Gov. Katie Hobbs’s outrageous election-law loophole to let illegals vote in federal races may yet be reversed ahead of the Nov. 5 general election, with little time left afterward to seek additional remedy.

The current Arizona law inexplicably requires proof of citizenship for state elections but not for federal ones. With Democrats currently in control, recent advertisements actively encouraged illegal immigrants to fill out applications for ballots, warning them that without ID they would only be sent the federal ballot.

The 9th Circuit’s temporary stay requires those registering to vote in the state have to provide proof of citizenship for federal elections as well.

The Circuit Court in any case reversed the decision of a lower court, which had argued that the National Voter Registration Act preempted the need for proof of citizenship with respect to voting in federal elections in particular, even if the State of Arizona could still require it for state and local elections.

Arizona State Senate President Warren Petersen said the ruling was a victory for those who care about free and fair elections.

“Only U.S. citizens should be allowed to vote in our elections,” he wrote in response.

“It sounds like common sense, but the radical left elected officials in our state continue to reject this notion, disrespecting the voices of our lawful Arizona voters.”

According to Petersen, however, the only way to adequately address the issue in the long run is for the United States Congress to act.

“We are grateful the court is upholding this provision in our law, and it’s time for Congress to take action to ensure only lawful U.S. citizens are voting in federal races,” he concluded.

Not all were pleased with the ruling. Progressive Arizona election lawyer Jim Barton called the ruling “bad news,” because it may mean lower voter turnout if only citizens can vote.

I really do not understand why people are not mad as hell that our local, state, and federal governments are making it easy for noncitizens to Register to Vote.

Are too many people waiting to cry and whine on November 5th when Trump loses because noncitizens voted for the Democrat?

FReepers, this is something each of you can do now.

Ask your Secretary of State how many of the Registered Voters in your state have a matching REAL ID Driver’s License or ID Card.

As Bannon says: ACTION, ACTION, ACTION

Allowing foreign, illegal aliens to vote is an insurrection by the bag ‘o’ sh*t government against the people of the United States. We need a national vote by the American people (those who pay taxes) to decide if we want foreigners to vote in our elections. The only reason they’re here is because they screwed up their own crap hole country. Voting at home is the only reason they are here begging for asylum. I don’t think we need those maggots to screw up our country. If they really feel they gotta vote, they can take their asses home and vote there.

The fix is in in every state of the union...

At least 10-to-15 million of the 60-million migrant invader vermin already in the country are set to vote in November...

Nothing and no one has done anything substantial to stop them...

Isn’t voting in federal elections a federal issue?

____________________________________________________

For the most part “no”. States are in charge of conducting federal elections. There have been Constitutional Amendments and some federal laws which give the federal government grounds to intervene, but those only involve cases in which voting rights are illegally denied. Federal law does not REQUIRE proof of citizenship only that there is a penalty if one DOES vote illegally. This is why the Dems (and even some Republicans) don’t want a federal law requiring proof. That suddenly torpedoes the who slow walking process of expanding voting-rights to “global citizens” instead of US citizens.

You’d like to think so, but no it doesn’t. I write as someone who taught Constitution word-by-word to 7th graders for more than 25 years. Through amendments the Constitution says that states cannot deny the vote on account of race, sex, lack of payment of poll tax and to people over 18 years of age.

Congress and state legislatures have passed additional laws regarding the restrictions on the right to vote.

So since everyone blames Californians for the democrats being in control of the state despite it being the illegals who voted that way, does that mean I now get to blame Arizonans when Arizona turns blue?

Federal law makes it unlawful for noncitizens to vote in federal elections.

But as you correctly point out -
Federal law does not REQUIRE proof of citizenship only that there is a penalty if one DOES vote illegally.

And that penalty includes misdemeanor fine or imprisonment, deportation and even permanent ineligibility for U.S. citizenship. Ergo, it is a quite serious issue.

It would seem entirely obvious that states that do not wish to participate in, or even accept the results of corrupted federal elections would be free to direct their congressmen to vote at the Joint Session against the certifications of states who do not confirm citizenship.

Accepting or rejecting the votes of states is the sole purpose for the Joint Session!
