Anthony Fauci dismissed the gunshot wound Donald Trump sustained during Saturday's assassination attempt, telling CNN viewers: 'he's in the clear.'
Fauci made the comments after the former president, 78, wore a large white bandage over the gunshot wound on his ear throughout the Republican National Convention this week.
'I don't think there is much more to it,' Fauci, 83, said of Trump's wounds while talking to CNN host Wolf Blitzer on Friday. 'It was a bullet shot that grazed his ear.'

Dear Dr fauxnocchio. Sit down assclown.
I guess he’s upset Trump didn’t suffer a greater wound.
Such a compassionate man.
He should be put on trial for crimes against humanity.
Hmmm... Was there anyone in DC that was NOT involved?
Fauxci would have committed an act of onanism had things on Saturday gone his way.
Jan 20 2025. Haul that basta…d Fauci off to gitmo for a hanging
We already know he’s demonic
Peter Navarro was right about him.
It was a bullet wound from an “assault rifle.” He pry wants to spare the public from seeing the damage the bullet did to his ear and he also needs to keep the wound clean and dry. Plus, it’s also a visual reminder of how his govt tried to kill him.
You think he had fantasies of performing the autopsy?
I’m no Fauci fan, but the headline is wrong. Fauci didn’t dismiss Trump’s wound. He merely said it didn’t appear to be more serious than an ear graze, which thankfully, appears to be true. But though Trump’s injury appears to be minor, that doesn’t take away from the seriousness of the shooting.
The discussion Fauci was having on CNN was weather or not Trump’s injury may be more serious than just a minor flesh wound (i.e. the concussive effects might cause complications such as a brain bleed). From the article:
‘I think he’s in the clear... as far as I can see,’ Fauci said - although he acknowledged that it’s dangerous to make diagnoses from a distance
However, based on Trump’s physicians’ reports and the way in which the former president is acting now, Fauci says it seems to have been a superficial wound to the ear and nothing more.
While Fauci believes Trump’s wound is harmless... others in the medical field have warned that long-term health effects of the gunshot could be detrimental to the former president.
CNN’s chief medical correspondent Doctor Sanjay Gupta asked for a ‘public assessment’ of the former president in an op-ed for CNN on Friday.
He added: ‘...gunshot blasts near the head can cause injuries that aren’t immediately noticeable, such as bleeding in or on the brain, damage to the inner ear, or even psychological trauma.’
The doctor argued that the public has ‘very little insight’ into Trump’s condition after he sustained the injury on Saturday.
Suddenly, the left is okay with shooting political rivals.
Exactly! This Dr. Gupta is the bad guy here, not Fauci.
I still remember when John Hinckley shot Ronald Reagan, they acted as if it was not serious but his wound was very near his heart.
Fauci needs to disappear from public life. His criminal acts will never be punished, but they should be.
Yes, I agree. It sounds like Gupta and others are trying to build a narrative that Trump is cognitively impaired from the effects of the blast. They’re just raising questions at this point, but this has all the hallmarks of a new media narrative in the making.
>>I still remember when John Hinckley shot Ronald Reagan, they acted as if it was not serious but his wound was very near his heart.
Yes, I remember that. I never knew till years later how serious Reagan’s injury was. But in this instance, Trump appears to have dodged a bullet, both figuratively and literally. There were no other bullets that hit him. The only question is whether or not he’s suffering from any indirect effects caused by the concussive force of the gun shot.
There are other possible indirect effects. The incident was a psychological shock, flooding the system with adrenaline and cortisol, etc. Trump is a tough guy, but he’s 78.
IMHO he is at risk from a heart problem or a stroke, or metabolic problems as a result.
hehe. You might want to clarify what that word means. Spilling his seed on the ground.
