CNN contributor and former Biden White House communications director Kate Bedingfield firmly planted her foot in her mouth Monday when she urged Democrats to “turn their fire” on former President Donald Trump — less than 72 hours after he was nearly felled by an assassin’s bullet.
“[Biden] has said many, many times after having been questioned many times about this that he’s not stepping down and that he’s going to be the nominee. So at some point, Democrats have to decide that they want to try to win this election and turn their fire on Donald Trump,” Bedingfield said.
Her tone-deaf choice of words came as she was speaking on a panel as part of the network’s prime-time RNC coverage, which also included CNN mainstays like Anderson Cooper and Van Jones.
Bedingfield seemed to immediately realize her error, pausing momentarily before apologizing for her poor choice of words.
“I shouldn’t have said ‘turn their fire’ – I apologize, that was not the phrase that I meant. They need to turn their focus on Donald Trump,” she amended her initial statement as an unseen male panel member awkwardly chuckled.

These were common political idioms until the Dems went nuts and decided any “Fight! Fight! Fight!” was a provocation of violence... if Trump or MAGA says it. The real problem is the “Hitler, end of democracy, enemies of the people” and associated “vermin” language. When you provoke people to true emotional disgust with a people, bad things happen. Always.

They fancy themselves as the Resistance, and conclude that the answer to the Berlin 1939 question, is "whatever it takes."
This is why you never get a coherent answer from Leftists about the 2020 fraud...because to them, it was a necessary "whatever it takes" measure to stop Hitler2.
The same is true for the pandemic and ANYONE who questioned the efficacy of the shots - all the slandering and marginalization of "antivaxxers" was a necessary "whatever it takes" measure because... well...the left just KNEW they were right and the people questioning that the shots were the ONLY way to fight the virus were part of Hitler2. However, saying that out loud will get them arrested or institutionalized (or tenure at Harvard).
A few years ago, there was a thread covering glee over at DU around an obituary with someone in a MAGA hat. Truly reprehensible DU glee was discussed. To my point, one DU poster wrote
A MAGA hat is no different than a swastika these days.
This is where the majority of the HARD left is regarding all of this. They're Resisting and history will pat them on the head for not being like the citizens of 1939 Berlin.
Except, that they're wrong. Bigly. Trump can’t be a dictator even if he wanted to be one. It’s a fantasy and they’ve fancied themselves the Saviors of This Generation. The fact that they've ingested their rantings as dogma is ghastly.
However, if you want a silver lining -or green shoots - even a few posters at DU saw the attendant illegitimacy AND darkness. As one sane DU person wrote,
Anyone with a glancing familiarity with history knows that dehumanizing a stranger you consider your enemy because of their politics usually doesn't end with just that. It's a very dark path.
Maybe we had “green shoots” a few years ago. Some men you just can’t reach. But we don’t need them all.

I don’t have a real problem with this individual incident as at the very least, in this moment anyway, she realized her error and corrected herself.
