Most are saying MAGA is no different than a swastika and conservatives are the enemies in a civil war.
They imagine that if we win elections then “Democracy” dies and the country will be ruled by white supremacists as a theocracy. Pretty nutty.
But there are some dissenters who are critiquing the hateful sentiments being expressed.
Sort of a mirror image of Free Republic.
The difference is that the things that horrify us about the left are things they already do: kill babies, expose children to perversion and sexualize them, spend, spend, spend other people’s money, and try to control everything others do, say, or think.
On the other hand, they are sure that any day we are going to exterminate all the non-white, English-speaking minorities and compel everyone to convert to some version of Christianity under threat of being burned at the stake. Just one problem: we’re not doing any of that right now. There’s no evidence of anyone but the tiniest number of kooks that believe anything like what they think MAGA folks believe. And such kooks are soundly reejected by MAGA folks.
There was a healthy mix (remember...it's DU) of people who outright rejected the vitriol. Yes, there are some psychos there, but if a small but mildly reasonable quantum of DU posters can produce this kind if retort, there IS some hope for the Republic....
Anyone with a glancing familiarity with history knows that dehumanizing a stranger you consider your enemy because of their politics usually doesn't end with just that. It's a very dark path.
People are free to do as they will, but my parents raised me a certain way. I think they did a pretty good job of rendering me more or less socially well-adjusted. When this topic comes up (and it does perpetually), "Why is this country so hateful?!" Well . . . tada. And, "People made me be this way!" isn't going to cut it. People need to take some responsibility for themselves. More and more, all over the place, I keep finding myself saying, "Is being normalsauce for just one day not a thing anymore?"
Sorry, it's not. And the back pats just add to the weirdness. "A stranger whose politics I don't like is dead! Yeah!" This shouldn't be normalized.
Imagine, "Hey, I saw a random Democrat I don't know is dead. Hooray!" Anyone who doesn't immediately side eye that has some weird lack of socialization going on, IMO.

Oh no, they just wouldn’t listen to Sen. McCarthy... little did he know that the communists controlled the MSM and painted him out to be a madman when he was the only one standing up for truth.
I want to see Ukraine successful at defending themselves from the Russian assault, because I always root for the little guy against the attacking bully. But there is NO "good guy" in this fight. It ain't our fight, and other than arming the little guy we should stay out.

I can only endure visiting the DU once every year or two.
I think the last time I did I observed one positive thing: The majority are solidly and vocally opposed to the sexualization of children.
Perhaps there are enough to slow down some of the more extreme Democrat positions on abortion (after birth and approving the sale of baby body parts) and pushing LGBT on children.
On the other hand, I am not reassured about any hope of peacefully coexisting with the radical left.

Same dopes who cheered when Obama sent blankets to Ukraine in 2014. They support any Dem POTUS policy. In reality they have very little interest in European security and no interest in peace through American strength. They want war on us and not Putin’s Russia.
