Donald Trump has picked Ohio senator J.D. Vance as his running mate, choosing a grassroots favorite ahead of more seasoned political operators.
The former president left it until the last possible moment, using all his showman skills to leave the world guessing, before opting for 39-year-old Vance after the Republican National Convention had already begun in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Vance swept to national attention when he published his bestselling memoir 'Hillbilly Elegy,' in 2016, the year Trump was elected president.
He has been a senator for less than two years but has established himself as one of the fiercest defenders of Trump’s 'Make America Great Again' agenda, especially when it comes to foreign policy, trade and immigration.
The former venture capitalist and U.S. Marine had initially been critical of Trump.

I figured it would be Vance after I received a long email from him yesterday that introduced who he was, his past, and how he felt on the issues. It was an email that would typically be sent out AFTER an announcement. I think somebody hit “send” by mistake, lol.

Right. However, the Republicans are a coalition of abortion moderates and strong pro-lifers.
Nominating a pro-abortion candidate is a quick way to split the party and lose an election.
If I had to choose between a pro-abort republican and pro-abort democrat, I might go 3rd party. There are tens of millions like me.
That would be a good way to end the effectiveness of the Republican party.
I also like the fact that he is young & not steeped in the usual Congressional BS.
Vance helps Trump not get shot, since the deep state hates him, too.
He’s also an excellent potential successor.

What? He tried having sex with white women, and even though they were amazing, he chose a black wife who was only so-so in order to be fair? You’re not making sense.
JD is not afraid to stand up. The good thing is that he is not president and he will only have a chance to prove himself for 4 years as long as Trump stays healthy. The deepstate does not want JD as president and that gives Trump some life security. If it were Rubio or anyone like that then they would just take out Trump and therefore end up with one of their own that would do everything they asked. Now they would have to take out both Trump and Vance which is a lot harder to do.
No but it is the one our whiner’s choir are crying about today.
