My reasoning about not needing flip Ohio or removing a republican Senator must not have been Trump’s line of reasoning, obviously. Perhaps I got too focused on the wrong things. Maybe Trump really likes his qualities and that’s all that mattered to him.

Trump didn’t need to pick a VP to expand the base. Old political strategies don’t apply this cycle. Trump will win handily against Brandon in real votes. What matters in winning is the level of vote fraud; a VP pick doesn’t change that.

I love Trump but hate his judgement in people. JD Vance was a never-Trumper until it was no longer politically convenient for him to be so. As far as I can tell Vance adds nothing to the ticket, except reminding MAGA that Trump has very poor personnel judgement. In fact my view of his judgement is buoyed by what you say, because I don’t see it out of the realm that he would have picked Haley... he is that blind to the qualities of others.
