Former Assistant U.S. Attorney Andrew Weissmann said Monday on MSNBC’s “Ana Cabrera Reports” that Judge Aileen Cannon’s dismissal of former President Donald Trump’s classified documents case in Florida is an “opportunity” for the 11th Circuit to remove Cannon if they think that this was frivolous.
Weissmann said, “I think it’s really important what Barb said, to think about what are the next steps because this is not a decision on the merits it’s about the procedure that was used. While I think that the bulk of the law, the balance of the law is squarely against Judge Cannon, this is something that the 11th Circuit or the Supreme Court can remedy.”
He continued, “It is also an opportunity for the 11th Circuit to remove Judge Cannon if they think that this is a particularly frivolous ground, something that a decision that had been rejected by three D.C. and Eastern District of Virginia courts. It also is the opportunity potentially for Jack Smith to think about a different venue for bringing these charges.”

Weisman shows why he should have been removed from the DOJ as soon as Trump took office - he’s more a political operative than anything else.
The Eleventh consists of 1 Dubya judge, 1 Clinton stooge, 3 Obama stooges, 1 Biden stooge and 6 Trump judges.

Andrew Weissmann is several levels below a piece of ship.
Biden could have avoided all this by simply appointing a current U.S. attorney, as happen Ed with Durham and Hur. But I think they had Garland so it so Trump couldn’t fire him as easily. Which is precisely why it raises a constitutional problem.
Weissmann is clearly a threat to Democracy, and the US Constitution.
The prosecution is welcome to appeal the judge’s ruling. Piss-ants in the left-field bleachers are welcome to shut up.

The Chief Judge for the 11th is Judge William J. Pryor (a rather stately old gentlemen) . He was appointed by George W. Bush. There is only one judge appointed by Biden and that is Judge Abudu.
Prior to Abudu’s appointment, there were six judges appointed by Trump. Those were Newsom, Branch, Grant, Luck, Lagoa, and Brasher. (I’ve had the opportunity to sit and speak with Judges Branch and Grant. Two delightful and very conservative ladies).
The other four Judges were appointed by George Bush (Judge Wilson), and Obama (Jordan, Rosenbaum, and Jill Pryor*)
I don’t think Weismann is going to get his wish.

I don ‘t think Weisman is very bright — corrupt as hell but not bright. My understanding is that the 11th can’t remove Cannon and that she would have to be impeached.

(And if they do, there’s always the Supreme Court, which has already enshrined similar language into a decision.)

Oops. I see an error in my list of Presidents and their nominees in the 11th Circuit. Wilson was appointed by Clinton.
