I’m always amazed at video like this - instead of focusing on just the threat - the camera is panned around, goes low, goes all around - there were a few seconds of the guy.

I can’t say you’re wrong. It’s incomprehensible that an elevated position within 450 ft. of the stage seems to have been completely ignored in all respects.
I haven’t been shooting in many years but I guarantee that I could pick up a rifle tomorrow and hit dimes at that distance with iron sights.

New analysis of the video from the Butler, PA Trump rally reveals crucial timing details: officers had a full 2 minutes to react as the shooter, Thomas Crooks, crawled into position before the first shot was fired.
This timing was determined by lining up the video with news footage of Trump’s speech at the rally.
I was referring to the strongly worded letter the Republicans would write, and the reaction to it.
It would seem that if there was a threat going to present itself that it would come from those buildings.
If a threat were concealed in those buildings and came out to start shooting from the ground then the sniper team would be rendered useless because the building would would shield them from sight or engagement while the attackers still would have unhindered access to the assembly.
Heard, unverified at the moment, that the countersnipers were told to stand down.
But how long until it is verified?
Ok, my apologies. There’s a lot of snark on the forum so I wasn’t certain. Not judging, I’m guilty of throwing a lot of snark myself.
