Former Obama adviser David Axelrod said Saturday on CNN’s coverage of the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump that he will be greeted as a “martyr” by supporters when he attends next week’s Republican National Convention.
Axelrod said, “I think this is a bracing moment for our country, and hopefully a moment for reflection where everybody kind of pulls back from the abyss so we don’t see this as a recurring event.”

Everybody pulls back from the abyss? The Republicans have not been fixated on looking into the abyss and having their heads filled with thoughts of death. The Democrats have a huge history of that.
I wonder how the MSM would react if Biden narrowly missed being assassinated and OUR responses was to worry if Biden would be seen as a martyr. I guessing if the tables were turned the 'propaganda arm of the democrat party (WP and NYT et al) would be outraged at our lack of 'compassion'. Of course when one of their own - Axelrod - is the jerk - they'll just overlook it.
