You can’t rule out incompetence in the age of DEI. The SS screwed up BIGLY. That building should have had security people on it.
Elevated, unobstructed position in close proximity of the protected target.
This was not an innocent oversight.
Who was in charge of the logistics? Perhaps someone re-assigned the agents that were supposed to be on that building?

If you had never coordinated a security operation in your life, this is the ONE building you would have made sure was secure. THe AGR complex are the ONLY large buildings close to the Farm Show grounds other than the hangers and a couple of businesses across the road.

The Secret Service had technology thirty years ago that told them immediately when someone accessed a location from which the President could be shot.
More than the shooter was involved in that attempt.

True story from my work days—one newly hired affirmative action employee worked on a desk processing invoices. When she couldn’t figure out how to process them she just threw them in the waste-basket. We didn’t find out until the late notices started to arrive.

Excellent point, Joe. So… a guy just decides to show up at a rally and take a potshot at PDJT… and he looks around for a spot that wasn’t covered by USSS and… well whadaya know! He’s in luck. A handy barn roof with no-one on it. And his rifle happens to be sighted in for the distance to the stage.
Now, let’s just see if he can get up there with a rifle without being spotted. Well whaddaya know! Another lucky break! Wait… he was spotted and pointed out to security, Well whaddaya know! Three times lucky! Security blew it off.
Oops. His luck ran out. He was shot deader’n a doornail. Tsk, tsk. Too bad. Can’t question him now.
