Of the many names bandied around, most meet the first qualification. It is the second that filters them out. To win the election will require adding Indpendents and wayward Democrats. Trump doesn't need to shore up his MAGA base.
Gabbard is best choice. A former Dem, aligned with Trump, will bring wayward Dems and independents, is a veteran, a person of color for those that care, and is a woman. Everything helps expand the MAGA base.

(I'll go out on a limb: Trump & Gabbard 2024 or Trump & Sanders 2024)

Tulsi would certainly be the most interesting choice, and not the worst either.
Of the names continually being thrown around, Burgum is by far the very worst possible option. Rubio is next worst.

No, VP needs to be someone capable of assuming the Presidency.I could see her in his administration but not as VP

Do you want her as president? Trump is 78, and is also facing endless lawfare which won't go away just because he becomes president. There's a very good chance his VP might need to finish out his term - I don't want Gabbard deciding on the SC justices to replace Alito and Thomas when they decide to step down.

Gabbard is best choice. Tulsi Gabbard was Vice Chair of the Democratic National Committee. She is a hardcore leftist on almost every issue. She would be a terrible choice as VP and Trump's heir apparent. She would hollow out Trump's core support while gaining no one.
