"The choice will be very very good, it's going to be a great vice president, meaning a person that can do a fantastic job as president because you always have to think of that first and then second, somebody that helps you get elected, and there is nothing wrong with that." — President Donald Trump.
Reported by Alexis McAdams in an interview with President Trump. She's sharing this on Fox News Live today, around 2 p.m. Easter in the noon to 3 p.m. show.

Only one candidate fits that description and I doubt very much he will be the pick. He will pick a closeted deep state candidate because he will be forced to just like RR was.
The deep state can buy almost anyone they chose - Carson included. The only one they cannot buy is DJT.
I wouldn’t mind Zeldin as VP, but I’d prefer the guy who actually did win a gubernatorial election — Glenn Youngkin.
Virginia may really BE in play. New York is a pipe dream in any normal election, and if a real landslide for Trump happens (spoiler alert: it won’t) then he’ll be well over 270 with or without New York. Most likely, without.
He’s not going to give any hints. Good for him.
Yet Trump says this is his second criteria.
And I do think it matters.
If it is Biden/Harris, maybe not so much as it is simply a grudge match between the two and Biden loses.
If it is Harris and someone else, I think Trump needs a woman to help counter. ESPECIALLY if Harris were to pick Whitmer. Two men vs two women would be horrible optics.
And Harris cannot pick Newsome as they are both from California.
And if Democrats skip Harris, all bets off.
Can Youngkin deliver Virginia? He’s gone soft a bit, not standing out as governor from what I’ve read (and I lived in northern Virginia for 19 years, last in 2014).
Nice but Pence was a dolt. VP was his end game he could never handle more than that . The man is as boring as Biden. His Deep State buddies played him from day one.
Who then? Most others do not have leadership experience—either military as Gabbard, or business as Burgum. But he’s more of a Romney-type person and even has Karl Rove’s endorsement. Youngkin maybe. Maybe out-of-the-blue Abbott, but that wouldn’t grow the base.
—>Tulsi would certainly be the most interesting choice, and not the worst either.</i>

“...Trump makes terrible choices...” That’s true. He did make some bad choices his first term. He made a bunch of good ones too. He came into WDC not knowing too many and relied on his “trusted” staff and advisors. He knows now, having learned the hard way. I suspect we can all attest to the fact that experience is a master teacher.
Tell me, did you know Pence was a bad choice at the time? And if so did you warn everyone or voice that opinion?
That’s Padma Lakshmi not Tulsi Gabbard. The scar on the arm, among other things, if you will, gives it away.
Is it fair to judge her based on 2020? If you do so then you lose Burgum, Vance, and many others. People change. Gabbard has very significantly when she left the Democrat party, which Trump did earlier as well. What her speeches, read what she writes. Besides, since 2020, she’s been completely loyal and in sync with Trump. I’d trust her as MAGA more than I would Burgum, as one example.
My preference is Dr. Carson. He balances the bombastic Trump and helps in Michigan and with the black vote overall.
If she waivers, she won't be candidate in 2028. Maybe not anyway as the party has a great pool of candidates likely on tap for 2028.
I’m not real big on milquetoast Carson, but I’d take him over Rubio, Vance or Burgum. All of them are bringing baggage that I don’t want.
