Western-provided F-16 fighter jets are on their way to Ukraine and set to start flying missions later this summer.

But they may not yet be enough to make a difference on the battlefield, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy indicated in a discussion this week on what Ukraine needs, comparing the jets to the US-made Abrams tanks that Ukraine got last fall.

Asked by Fox News' host Bret Baier at the Reagan Institute if the 31 Abrams Ukraine received as its counteroffensive was already stumbling made a difference, Zelenskyy said: "I'm not sure that such number of tanks can change the situation on the battlefield."

It’s going to take nukes to do that. That fact has been proven already. Even American boys committed and dying by the hundreds every week won’t defeat the Russians, let alone the Russians and their NORK and Chinese allies’ divisions. And that's a stupid comment, US Doctrine isn't to sit in trenches like WWII. We fight much differently, and this war would be over pretty quick if these US actually got involved. For one thing, war with Russia would barely touch Ukraine, if at all. We'd be hitting them every other which way.

They as in F-16s and Abrams? Not at all - your statement is so far wrong I can't tell if it's serious or not.

Russia is basically a "gas station with nukes", they just invaded the "gas station without nukes" and now they're stuck. Their only advantage ever Ukraine is numbers - more manpower and more artillery. Otherwise, they're about the same power level. Yes, Russia will win eventually, but that WWII style of war is only effective against other WWII-level militaries. And only a threat to countries with landed borders.

GPS on a commercial level is pretty easy to jam or spoof, but encrypted military-grade GPS is a good bit more robust. And not something Ukraine has access to.
