Western-provided F-16 fighter jets are on their way to Ukraine and set to start flying missions later this summer.
But they may not yet be enough to make a difference on the battlefield, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy indicated in a discussion this week on what Ukraine needs, comparing the jets to the US-made Abrams tanks that Ukraine got last fall.
Asked by Fox News' host Bret Baier at the Reagan Institute if the 31 Abrams Ukraine received as its counteroffensive was already stumbling made a difference, Zelenskyy said: "I'm not sure that such number of tanks can change the situation on the battlefield."

The Abrams, like all tanks, is obsolete. All tanks are being slaughtered as soon as they reveal themselves in Ukraine. You never see more than two or three tanks being committed at a time in Ukraine. That’s because the rate of loss for both Uke and Russia tanks on the battlefield is probably approaching 90%.
Nothing will ever be enough. This war was lost from the day it began. It is a meat grinder of attrition and Ukraine started off with less so they will finish with less. it is a shame that fjb, bilken and newland got it started. They misled both sides.

Supported by recon helos, Apaches, MLRS, various E-warfare devices and covered by the USAF or Naval Air, you would learn that M1s are -far- from obsolete.
You sound like the armchair generals who keep telling us how the carrier is dead. And they forget that carrier is not alone, it is overwatched by satellites, more attack subs than you’d guess, ASW aviation and a handy screen of destroyers and frigates.
And a carrier of today is a different animal than a WWII carrier.

No. The problem is Zelensky didn’t go to the table when the best deal was offered.
Not drones but mines and artillery fires.
And we all know about the vaunted drones. But those are actually a monument to the amateurish nature of the fighting. In some places, the fighting literally duplicates WWI.
Try that silliness of a DGI drones against a US force and see what happens when a Navy Growler or USAF EA-37B hits that drone and it’s signal.
You might sneak one in against a rear base somewhere... but US armor in the field is quite safe against this Uke circus stunt that has been useful against similar levels of quality enemies.

35 F-16s, even if flown by American pilots, would still be outnumbered by 300 Russian fighter jets. American Navy and Marine pilots are amazing, but landing and taking off from carrier decks does not make them invincible in the air, even against lesser jets.
