Democrat party media seems to be fixated now on "Project 2025". Has anyone here even heard of it? MSNBC especially seems to think this is an important, burning issue. I'm sure they are distorting whatever it is. As far as I know it's just policy proposals put out by the Heritage Foundation. Trump says he has nothing to do with it.
Here's what The Hill saying about it: The 900-page 2025 Presidential Transition Project is a “governing agenda” filled with conservative priorities and insight from scholars and policy experts. It is divided into sections based on five main topics — “Taking the Reins of Government,” “The Common Defense,” “The General Welfare,” “The Economy” and “Independent Regulatory Agencies.”
The project makes a wide range of policy proposals, perhaps most notably reshaping the powers of the executive branch. It also calls for striking various small government agencies and rolling back funding for abortions and approval of the abortion pill mifepristone.
Another proposal is reimplementing Schedule F, a classification for federal workers that makes it easier to fire them and replace them with loyalists. The Associated Press has estimated this could affect 50,000 workers.
Trump initially signed an executive order in October 2020 to institute Schedule F, but President Biden pulled back the order after taking office and approved a new rule to make it more difficult to fire career civil servants.
Democrats have railed against the project and pointed to it as evidence of an extreme agenda that would be brought in if Trump is reelected.

It has been all over Reddit this past week. The breathless fear that this has generated is actually funny. The things they tell you that Republicans are going to do are crazy-funny.
The sad thing is the kids believe this junk because TikTok is pushing it into their faces 24/7.

Why did they release this to the public, and not just give it to trump if, by some miracle, he gets elected?

I first heard about it today. Saw a FB post with an essay by Heather Cox Richardson. Seems to link Trump to Ortman. Conservatism is all bad, it seems. Especially if conservatives do any planning or goal-setting. It does look like this Project 2025 theme is gaining traction, by the reactions on the left.
Project 2025 comes from The Heritage Foundation, not Trump.
Essentially, it is a road map to eliminating the entrenched bureaucrats who prevent a President from effectively running the executive branch. Some folks call these people the “Deep State”, but really they infest every department of the executive branch, making it impossible for a President to control. The plan makes tens of thousands of high level civil servants subject to firing and being replaced with people that answer to the President and his Secretaries.
