All too true. In addition, for a squared away Marine in retirement these days, there is also the existential pain of wondering what their beloved Corps and country are becoming.

I am waiting to see what the COD (cause of death) will be declared. 59 is awfully young in my opinion.

RIP General. Have no idea of cause of death, and am not insinuating anythhing, but the way military brass have caved to the filthy democrat woke agenda probably has caused a lot of guilt and heavy hearts.

Yes, it can be quite an “intense” journey from active duty to civilian life. A lot of suicides along the way trying to figure it out. I left AD in 1970 and will never totally accept and adjust, and I suspect I’m not alone. One thing that remains eternal though is the brotherhood with your comrades in arms.

Died in Quarters as reported in one of the articles. Unattended deaths on base always warrant a criminal investigation. In this case NCIS.

(Died with Vaxx)

You’re right, FRiend. I’m 70, of all the jobs I’ve worked, or still working, they don’t quite compare with my time on active duty. The day after my battery command ended, it was shocking how my life changed. The optempo went from 16 hour days to almost zero.

I’ve had some pretty challenging roles as a civilian, such as 5 years with the FDIC during the bank crisis, but they were not as satisfying as my military time.

Last summer, I spent a couple days with an Army buddy, first time we saw each other in 40+ years. I was his Best Man when he got married. He married a German girl, she didn’t speak English until they moved back to Virginia. My last two years in Germany, I rarely spoke English once I was off base.

Nailed it mate! I spent 3 years in West Berlin during the 60’s so appreciate and share your German experience. In the intervening years I’ve lost too many brothers to count and every one hurts...bad! Something about the veteran community that is unmatched. Only police and fire come close. God bless our troops.

Allow NCIS to get the facts and bury them folks. Then comment.
