With the ideological left’s attempt to erase women, whether through sports, attempting to add “birthing people” in our laws, or denying natural distinctions between men and women, we are grateful Governor Youngkin is doing the opposite.
The Governor vetoed a bill (HB 781, D-Herring) this year intended to initiate a task force to evaluate maternal health in Virginia but ridiculously replaced “mothers” with “birthing people.”
Last week Governor Youngkin issued Executive Order 32 to reestablish the Task Force on Maternal Health Data and Quality Measures, and he did it without including contraceptive mandates or woke language such as “birthing people”. This initiative will focus on determining what additional benefits are needed to support maternal health care for women and families throughout the Commonwealth.
“Improving health outcomes for mothers and infants is foundational to making Virginia the best place to live, work, and raise a family,” said Gov. Youngkin. “Mothers play an incomparable role in the lives of their children and families, and it is imperative that we do the necessary, collective work to ensure they are receiving the care they deserve.”
Understanding the health concerns and needs facing moms across Virginia is essential to providing the right assistance, and reestablishing this task force will put us in a better position ensure mothers and newborn children have the proper resources.
If you are an expectant mother in need, or know of one who is, feel free to explore our pregnancy resource page to learn more about the resources that are readily available to Virginia moms.
Good for him. The world is full of dumb a...
A bill for nonbinary goofiness and use of idiotic verbing at the same time? Liberals must be shrieking at its veto.
More Gibberish , wait is this Nancy Pelosi’s great idea ,birthing people from a few years ago ,LOL
Retarded. The word you are looking for is retarded (with no offense to those with trisomy 21)
This bill actually passed the Virginia legislature, I know that democrats have very small majorities in both houses, and no democrat voted against this insanity.
Birthing persons?
We have to be so politically correct, that we would not want to suggest that anyone giving birth is a mother.
More and more of this nonsense can turn more people off from the Democrat Party. Some people will get the impression about Democrats and liberals , that to hear people talking that way, they may think that there’s something messed up in their heads. Why the insistence on not calling a mother a mother?
They can call their mother whatever they want but forcing others to do the the same is insane
I wonder how long it’s going to take them to build more nervous hospitals as more and more transgender men (fake men) get pregnant.
Question, if de State charges the term from mother to birthing person, does that mean the birthing person would not get any government benefits set aside for new born and young children since the law designates ’mother’ receives. The ‘terms’ are not the same legally until the law is changed. Interesting… 🧐 I can think of many reason Democrats would want to change words!
Why not call them, ‘fathers who talk too much’?
🤡
The Rats will use his veto as campaign fodder to say he doesn’t really care about health care.
Compelling speech? Canada made Jordan Peterson famous when they tried it. And they COULD do it because they don’t have our first amendment.
The NOVA liberals, Richmond carpetbaggers (even if born inVA) are quite the pieces of work. Need to vote the LT governor in as rep spannerger is a big gov flunky (former OGA).
He wants the VP job.
I’ve seen articles with “pregnant person.”
These times are bringing out all the nutjobs.
Siwwy Wabbit,
Social services bureaucrats will simply deem birthing persons as ‘mothers’ for purposes of benefits and whatever other necessary law.
“Stop that, Guv! “
Happy Birthing Person Day
and
Happy Sperm Donor Day
