If Trump is remanded into custody on July 11, there will have to be an emergency Supreme Court appeal.
On what grounds? The whole thing is a concoction of the Manhattan DA. Trump is charged with state crimes. Now there are questions regardingthe usage of a federal statute as a model for state prosecution, but SCOTUS taking the case before any state appeal process has begun is a long shot.
As for Merchan sentencing Trump to incarceration, that was a done deal at 10PM Thursday night.
I don’t know the legalities, but there is precedent in NY State and a recent USSC ruling. In NYS they reversed Harvey Weinstein’s conviction because the prosecution relied on salacious testimony that was not relevant to the alleged crime. In the Supreme Court, they recently ruled that the jury must be unanimous on the specific crime. Merchan’s jury instructions specifically stated they could be split 4-4-4 on one of three allegedly different crimes and still be unanimous.
Both causes, and probably a lot more (such as not allowing him defense witnesses such as the FEC chair who would have said that ‘hush money’ is not a crime), are reason for emergency appeal in New York, and in a Federal Court.

It will have to be to whatever the New York state high appellate court is called. They have names backward, but Trump will have to exhaust his state remedies to get into a federal court.
