Supreme Court justice Clarence Thomas has questioned the legitimacy of Jack Smith's appointment as special counsel as the Supreme Court ruled that Donald Trump is partially immune from prosecution for actions taken while he was in the White House.
In a 6-3 ruling, the justices returned Trump's case to the trial court to determine what is left of special counsel Jack Smith's indictment of Trump.

I read Justice Thomas’s concurrence opinion as giving a ‘green light’ to Judge Cannon in Florida to rule that Jack Smith illegally occupies the Special Prosecutor job.

If someone, pretending to be a police officer, “arrested” someone and took them to a court I presume the fake would be vulnerable to criminal charges for the impersonation. I don’t know if something similar exists for a fake “prosecutor,” but it should! So if, as Justice Thomas suggests, Smith is a private citizen playing the role of a federal prosecutor dragging folks around courts in Florida, shouldn’t the Florida AG be able to so charge him? The fact that he is a lawyer and has been an official prosecutor in the past should make it harder for him to claim ignorance as a defense. The guy’s caused millions of dollars in damages between unneeded federal expenditures, defense legal fees amongst other harm. Plenty of folks in Florida prisons for less harm done.
I have said for weeks that this “MEDIA” is committing suicide.

Apparently that is the outfit worn by the Specialist Prosecutor of the Kosovo Specialist Chambers, which is a court in The Hague that prosecutes war criminals from the Kosovo conflict. Jack was in that job 2018-2022. See here.
