BREAKING: Former President Trump says he will threaten Zelensky and Putin into peace talks to end the war.

"We tell the Ukrainians, 'You've got to come to the table, and if you don't come to the table, support from the United States will dry up.

And you tell Putin, He's got to come to the table, and if you don't come to the table, then we'll give Ukrainians everything they need to k*ll you in the field."

Russia wanted Trump because they aren’t crazy.

He absolutely did want Hillary to win - because he knew it was best for Russia.

Let me let you in on a little secret. Russia has been trying to interfere in U.S. elections since the 1930's and it has ONLY been to help Democrats.

Trump says he will end the Ukraine war.

When you boil everything else away, that, and reducing our military presence abroad, is exactly why DJT is an enemy of the deep state.

The defence contractors rely on the politicians for business and reward them handsomely when they deliver. That apple cart must never be upset. Never.

Ending the Palestinian war is more important because it involves the US. You don’t see Russians fighting us on our soil but we see Palestinians fighting us in our very schools. The final target of the muzzie is not the destruction of Israel but that of America. Armageddon is an armed muzzie operative at an American’s front door aka Gaza II.

Putin kept trying to negotiate peace but England’s Boris and America’s Biden would not let him. Putin took out infrastructure and said, “Now do you want to negotiate?” He did that over and over.
Putin has said that Zelensky is not legitimately president and that he will no longer negotiate with him. Putin has said he will negotiate with the west. That made sense to me because it is the west Putin is fighting. Brandon knows this, Germany knows this. They are not willing to negotiate. They want WWIII.
I believe thus far the Ukrainian war has drained the EU and US of weapons. Analyst Alexander Mercouris says at this point it no longer benefits Russia to walk away because of the investment of Russian soldiers lives and military hardware, he wouldn’t want to leave a live grenade lying around (not his words, just my metaphor).
As to which side Putin is on, he’s on Russia’s side. He does what benefits Russia and that changes from year to year, administration to administration.
Right now Brandon is expending Ukrainian lives and American tax payer dollars like water to fight this proxy war and hide the American crime hub in the Ukraine. Putin has no reason to support Brandon at this point.
Russia is not above influencing elections. I believe he probably supported Hillary during the 2016 election. He seemed stunned when he finally met Trump, saying Trump was not like he is portrayed in the media. Putin said Trump was insightful among other things. The two men talked longer than expected, probably at the G7, to the point that Melania was dispatched to invite them to dinner, but they remained.

That could change Putin’s attitude toward Trump, but only if it benefited Russia. Putin had promises from Obama and Hillary was his extension, so Putin would support a Hilary candidacy.
But then he met Trump.Whatever benefits Putin from day to day is what he will support. The same can be said about Trump, but with a more Judeo Christian restraint.

No, he did not say that.

Oh, he didn't:

Obama tells Medvedev he will have "more flexibility" after election (And Medvedev was just a Putin puppet.)

Maybe you should read this thread from FR from March 2012. Please read each reply.

Obama Caught on Hot Mic: Tells Russian PM He‘ll Have More ’Flexibility‘ ’After My Election’

I proved what you said is wrong. Just out of curiosity, are you a writer for The New Republic?

I detect a flaw in this concept.

-------------------------------

Flaw in the concept is that Russians, (most of all Russian dictators) never, never, NEVER negotiate in good faith. No American President needs advisors who don't understand that. I want to hope that this announcement is just election eyewash to pander to the extreme isolationist crowd. Trump's actual record in Europe is more rational.

------------------------------------------------------

When you become a reflexive and obsessive Ukrainian War proponent the first thing to go is your sense of humor. ......or so they tell me.

Putin has been the adult in the room and shown great restraint. The neocons, of course, think this is a sign of weakness and proves that Ukraine can win.

We need to run adds starting out with a bumbling Biden, then ending with a little girl counting daisy pedals before a nuke goes off.

You are exactly right that Putin has been the adult in the room and has shown great restraint..

The people who want to get rid of Putin are not thinking straight. He’d be replaced by hard liners who would not show restraint.

didn’t you mean that Americans, and (most all of American Presidents) never, never, EVER negotiate in good faith?

“We tell the Ukrainians, ‘You’ve got to come to the table, and if you don’t come to the table, support from the United States will dry up. Because we love to reward aggression. Come on in to some other countries and make even more aggression. Lovely!

“First of all Putin has come out and said that. Second, Russia tried to get Biden elected and Hillary elected the last two times.”

You say Putin worked to elect Biden and Hillary. Then you put up that Obama quote to Medvedev? You don’t even make sense.

A week or so ago the Russians proposed a ceasefire and Blinken turned down even preliminary talks.

That’s why Blinken turned it down.
