Republicans' top pick to be Donald Trump's vice presidential candidate, according to a new poll by The Economist/YouGov.
DeSantis, who was initially considered Trump's top contender for the candidacy but quickly dropped out from the primaries after a sweeping defeat in Iowa, has said he is not interested in the position.
However, over four in ten respondents who identify as Republicans chose him as their preferred pick, while 40% of independents who lean toward the GOP giving the same answer.
The poll showed that Florida Senator Marco Rubio followed suit with 27% of respondents choosing him as the potential VP. The senator, in turn, is vying for the position, but he is reportedly not willing to audition for it.
According to The New York Times, he has taken a low-key approach. Aides and donors view him as one of several options who would pose little risk of creating unwanted distractions for a candidate already facing multiple legal threats.
At the same time, he is also known to have a strong relationship with Susie Wiles, a fellow Floridian and Trump campaign senior adviser who is coordinating the search for a running mate.
But a potential Trump-Rubio ticket may run into some issues, starting from within. Rubio's quietness on the campaign trail has perplexed Trump, who has privately wondered how much the senator actually wants the job, according to two people familiar with the subject.
Similarly, Trump has told advisers that Rubio would have to move out of the state, according to The Times, as the Constitution potentially bars two residents from the same state from sharing a presidential ticket.

You fail to address the argument for Vivek as VP. All you can come up with is why you are against him. Typical of Right-Wing Christians of which I am also one. After Trump’s done in 2028, you have no affirmative plan and objective for taking back America and restoring her Free Constitutional Republic.
All you offer is what you are against. Again, typical. Vivek rails against this same problem on the Right - no clear plan or objectives unlike the Left who is VERY clear about what they want which is why up until now they have been winning

Stating VR’s NON-Christian status clearly addressed the argument for Vivek as VP.
If he were to be VP, and ONLY VP, it would be something to consider. That isn’t guaranteed. He easily could move into POTUS position in 2025. We don’t know Trump’s life span.

I think the 11th is still applicable. Personal insults and questioning of motives is harmful. Stick to criticisms of policy, voting records, positions. Criticize campaign strategies or personnel decisions. But avoid actually demonizing your fellow Republican.

Not the definition of the Eleventh. That imposes a double standard on defenders of the Constitution.

“thou shalt not speak evil of thy fellow Republican.”
So I do think I am sticking to it.
The last words are “fellow Republican” and not “fellow RINO”; remember RINOs are not the fellows of Republicans nor vice versa.

Especially since the he’s the best, most effective governor in the country, with policy victories just about every day.
They can, but the electors would have to withhold their vote from one of them.
That's why it won't happen.
But if nobody gets a majority of the electoral votes, the Senate chooses the VP from among the top 3, and teh Senate map favors the Republicans. 24 Democrat seats up this year, only 10 Republican seats.
Vivek is a fake.
Because he's Senator from Florida, and he can't very well be senator if he doesn't live in the state he represents.
Yes, Governor DeSantis is term limited as of the end of this term. he can’t run for Governor in 2026. (He could run for another office if he chooses.)

Such polls are largely based on name recognition.
That describes DeSantis.
